automation of business processes. You must research current trends and summarize your

research as a report. The general structure of the report is as follows

An introductory section about current technological trends providing context for your

report;

2. A description of select applications of AI to business (minimum 3) in one particular business area Have particularly

business areas (of your interest) in mind (e.g., HR, Marketing and Sales, Finance,

Exceptionally, highly regarded industry sources (e.g., IBM, Oracle, SAP, McKinsey,

Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini) will be accepted;

3. Other than APA formatting, the structure for the paper is not fixed, if there is a logical

flow of ideas. The length of the paper is not an issue and maximum should be 5-6 pages

Wireless Networking

Draft a response to each of the questions below. After you have  posted your own response, make sure you go back through the discussion  and read the responses of your peers. Make sure you respond to at least  two of your peers’ posts and take the opportunity to ask questions and  share ideas. Your responses should again be detailed, thoughtful &  substantial. Use your textbook and other academic resources to justify  your responses.

  1. When did Wi-Fi become an official standard?  Who is the governing body?
  2. What are some of the different Wi-Fi standards?  How are they similar?  How are they different?
  3. How do we keep Wi-Fi, or wireless networks, secure?
  4. What are some different companies that offer wireless networking equipment?  Compare and contrast some of their equipment.

Tableau project

The purpose of this project is to give you experience working in Tableau to build interactive dashboards. The data provided comes from LendingClub.com. Each row represents a $25 investment (called a “note”) in a loan. You have a lot of information about each note and the borrower – a majority of which you will not need. A data dictionary is provided, though it appears to not cover everything in the data. If you are unsure about something, make an assumption and proceed. You can go any way you want with this data to show anything you think is worth looking at. I encourage you to be creative. You will be graded on the overall quality of your resulting dashboard and work completed. Submissions SUBMIT A .TWBX FILE, NOT A .TWB FILE! You can do this via File – Save As – and selecting Tableau Packaged Workbook (TWBX) as the file type.

Strategic IT Plan

Strategic IT Planning: Your 3-Step Process

Introduction

Strategic IT Planning is required to ensure your resources and assets continue providing the results and the support your organization needs.

What is a Strategic Plan?

It is a roadmap to achieving a goal. It may cover your entire department or responsibility or it may focus on a specific issue or element of your role. It can be long and involved or a simply one-page document that provides guidance and steps you need to implement to achieve a goal.

Making it Happen

There are a few things that are important to your success. While it may seem that developing the Strategic Plan is the hardest part, most plans fail because of the implementation. The key is to keep it small and be successful, then build on that success for the next initiative. Don’t bite off too much or try to be too ambitious.

• Take your time and keep it manageable

• Link your plan to your company’s strategy

• Justify your initiative and get buy-in and support

• Don’t re-invent, rebuild

• Go slow, manage change

• Set aside time from your operational responsibilities to make it happen

Without a Strategic Plan, you and your team won’t be effective and you won’t be able to get results, get attention and get ahead.

Why you need an IT Strategy:

Redirect from tasks to opportunities and result

• Switch from fighting fires to preventing fires

• Reduce risk with planning and a longer view

Most Strategic Plans never get written or they fail because they are too involved and complex. Keep them simple and use these three basic steps as your core approach. Ask yourself these questions:

1. Why do you need to do it? What is your goal?

2. What are the things you need to get done to achieve your goal?

3.  How can you make those things happen?

By following the 3 steps above and writing them down, you will have the outline of your Strategic IT Plan. Then, you establish the tactical things that will help you implement your plan.

Implementation Plan

Once you have established your strategic plan using the 3-step process, you need to develop your implementation plan. This includes getting approval and resources as well as the steps you need to take to achieve your strategic objective.

1. Set the objective for each step

2. Analyze internal/external factors

3. Develop solutions

4. Identify and eliminate barriers

5. Allocate resources (people, time, money)

6. Develop detailed tasks

7. Implement your plan!
