 Overview: It is important for you as a healthcare provider to advocate for populations through policy. Assessing the needs of a vulnerable population and identifying the policies affecting them to ensure positive outcomes is part of the advocacy process. Understanding U.S. health policy is a crucial component of developing a global perspective. A global perspective also requires considering the Millennium Development Goals in relation to U.S. policy; this allows advocates and decision makers to clarify the direction necessary to ensure health globally. Prompt: After reviewing the Final Project Two Guidelines and Rubric document, develop a paper summarizing the policy approved for your project, and analyze the effectiveness of the policy. In addition to your research, incorporate the information gathered during your interview to provide additional support for your policy assessment. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: I. Introduction A. Summarize the policy that is the focus of your evaluation. Include in your summary the purpose of the policy, its scope and main points, its stakeholders and constituents, and its relation to other policies (if applicable). B. Explain the development of the policy, considering policymakers and their political standing, timelines, and budget restrictions. C. Explain your rationale for choosing the policy, using your research as support for your choice. II. Evaluation A. Determine the policy’s strengths and weaknesses in its ability to provide positive and/or negative change for its target population. Support your response with examples. B. Assess the extent to which the policy meets the needs of its target population, using data to support your claims. C. Explain any unintended impacts as a result of the policy. Consider populations, economics, and social or cultural factors in your response.  

 Using your current workplace (THE PRISON SYSTEM)as an example, justify the need for an evaluation process within the workplace. Your discussion should analyze the tools that are currently being used within the workplace to evaluate processes and employees. Distinguish which tools you have learned about that could be recommended as a positive addition to current evaluation process.  

Write a page with references including intext citation in APA format. You may pick any two scheduling processes to compare and contrast or you can choose all of them.

How is scheduling of patients in a doctor’s office similar to and different from the scheduling of jobs in a factory, scheduling vehicles for servicing, scheduling patients for surgery, and scheduling college students for subsequent courses in their degree program?

Then discuss the added value benefits of planning, organizing, and implementing an effective scheduling system. Feel free to exemplify these added benefits when designing and implementing a quality control system.

Using the same health care organization selected in Module 1, explain how health information systems are being applied to different ancillary departments and/or specialties by doing the following:

Create an architectural schema of the health information systems infrastructure at the health organization you selected in Module 1. Create the schema using a table where you list the types of health information systems (i.e., EHR) and in another column state the purpose of the health information system.

The paper should contain an introduction paragraph, followed by your chart, then a paragraph or two explaining how each health information system is integrated within the overall infrastructure at the health care organization, and finally a conclusion.

As the managing director for your company, based in India, that manufactures computer equipment, you are negotiating with an official in China. His job is to select computer equipment for city employees. You are adamant that you want all the specifications named clearly in a contract. However, the Chinese official is not interested in the technical and financial details. In a minimum of two pages, explain why having a cultural profile of people in the official’s cultural group could help you avoid a breakdown in communication in this situation. How can you get through the intercultural impasse and obtain a contract that both you and the Chinese official find acceptable?

Read the case, “Harley-Davidson Inc. in May 2015” on page 502-514. Use the case analysis format provided below to  identify and address the problems and provide several suggested solutions that the Harley-Davidson Inc. executive team can review for possible implementation. 
Be sure to “identify 2 to 3 problems” and “develop 2 to 3 possible solutions to the problems identified”, and use this as the focus for making your case in the case format.

I. Write the Executive Summary

• One to two paragraphs in length
• On cover page of the report
• Briefly identify the major problems facing the manager/key person
• Summarize the recommended plan of action and include a brief justification of the recommended plan

II. Statement of the Problem

• State the problems facing the manager/key person
• Identify and link the symptoms and root causes of the problems
• Differentiate short term from long term problems
• Conclude with the decision facing the manager/key person

III. Causes of the Problem 

• Provide a detailed analysis of the problems; identify in the Statement of the Problem
• In the analysis, apply theories and models from the text and/or readings
• Support conclusions and /or assumptions with specific references to the case and/or the readings

IV. Decision Criteria and Alternative Solutions

• Identify criteria against which you evaluate alternative solutions (i.e. time for implementation, tangible costs, acceptability to management)
• Include two or three possible alternative solutions
• Evaluate the pros and cons of each alternative against the criteria listed

• 2 to 3 external sources (in addition to your textbook) should be referenced to back up your recommendations or to identify issues.  This information would be ideally sourced in current journals, magazines and newspapers and should reflect current management thought or practice with respect to the issues Identify.

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

• Write between 750 – 1,250 words (approximately 3 – 5 pages) using Microsoft Word in APA style, see example below.
• Use font size 12 and 1” margins.
• Include cover page and reference page.
• At least 80% of your paper must be original content/writing.
• No more than 20% of your content/information may come from references.
• Use at least three references from outside the course material, one reference must be from EBSCOhost. Text book, lectures, and other materials in the course may be used, but are not counted toward the three reference requirement.
• Cite all reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) in the paper and list on a reference page in APA style.

References must come from sources such as, scholarly journals found in EBSCOhost, CNN, online newspapers such as, The Wall Street Journal, government websites, etc. Sources such as, Wikis, Yahoo Answers, eHow, blogs, etc. are not acceptable for academic writing. 

Respond to classmate initial post. 275 words, 

First of all — DO NOT just write “yep, I agree” — that’s not helpful.

Be very careful with phrases that mean “I feel” — feelings are real, and usually based on something — so, when you start with “I feel” — continue with “because …..” Chances are pretty good that you’ll see the “I feel” part isn’t necessary.

When you say “I agree” — follow it up with a clause beginning with “because” — that will further explain your position.

Don’t shy away from conflict or objections in your responses — that’s what’s interesting.

I’m looking for your original thoughts — that means that I want to see what else you think on the topic. So, extend your ideas a bit — push the envelope, take risks, try out ideas that you don’t believe in. This also means that you can’t just copy and paste stuff.
