In Week 3, you evaluated leadership issues, analyzed the Hogan Assessment, designed a compensation package and defended recommendations to the CEO. The CEO has requested a Balanced Scorecard.

  • Evaluate the purpose of a Balanced Scorecard 
  • Identify the following categories on the Balanced Scorecard: Traditional Categories, Communication Flow, the role of the HR professional and a column for the Strategic Plan/Action Plan, and any other relevant information to improve the performance level of the organization. 
  • Defended the importance of the Balance Scorecard and the correlation to align human capital with the goals of the decision makers. 
  • Designed a supplemental graphic of the Balanced Scorecard.

  1. What type of training and development      interventions directly impact the social environment? With which type of      social intervention do you work best and why?

Chapter 3:

  1. Explain how an organization’s culture      can influence the decision of whether or not to provide training or      development. Provide current examples.

Chapter 4:

1. What is Bloom’s Taxonomy and why do trainers need to pay attention to learning outcomes?

2. How does social learning theory affect employee development? Describe the process using the model. 

3. Discuss problem-based learning and discuss the benefits of using this kind of learning for management and leadership training.

Chapter 5:

  1. When designing      a training evaluation program, which designs, experimental or      nonexperimental, are the easiest to use for corporate training? Discuss      the importance of thinking about evaluation before you decide on the      content in your training program.

Chapter 6:

  1. What is      the difference between “effective training” and “training effectiveness”?      Which level of evaluation do you see as more important to trainers and      which level is more important to the organization. Explain why. 

Chapter 7:

1. Go to www.youtube.com. (a) Search for “Training in Second Life” or “Training Simulations in Second Life.” Choose and review a video of one of the many topics of training offered in Second Life. Provide a description of the training. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the training. Based on the video you reviewed, do you think that companies’ interest in Second Life for Training will increase or decrease in the future? Justify your response. What would a company do to consider the Cost Benefit Analysis of the training?

  1. Is it beneficial or problematic to have      employees think of training as a reward? Justify your response with real      life examples.

Chapter 9:

  1. Discuss how individual diversity      intersects with technology. How can an organization use technology to be      more inclusive? 
  2. What is gamification and is it a good      thing for training? Justify your response with real life examples.

3. Refer to the information about the Research Paper throughout the Assignment Sheet and the information about new trends in training in the textbook. (a) List the topic (trend) for your paper. (b) Schedule the interview with an HR Training Professional that will be included in the Research Paper. Who will you interview and what questions will you ask? (c) List two of the sources (in the correct APA format) that you will use in the research paper. 

The authors of the textbook discussed several trends that will influence the future of training. Based on future social, economic, political, or technology factors, identify one new trend that you think will influence training. Write a 10 page paper summarizing your ideas. Make sure to provide a rationale for your trend. In addition, analyze the ethical issues (including the Association for Talent Development Code of Conduct included within the textbook) and decisions related to the trend that will influence training. Include 6 peer-reviewed sources (Journal Articles) from EBSCO or other databases, information from the personal interview and all appropriate APA documentation

REFLECTION ESSAY (3-5 pages)

 Based on the readings in the textbook and other outside sources used in this class, what new skills will trainers need to be successful in the future?  How do you plan to use your new learning in your career? Develop a 3-5 page Reflection Essay on this topic.

Assignment is based on the case study

This case was written by Christoph H. Loch, Professor of Technology and Operations Management at INSEAD. It is based on real events, but the names of all companies and participants have been disguised. Any similarity with existing companies is accidental. The case is intended to be used as a basis for class discussion rather than to illustrate the effective or ineffective handling of an administrative situation.

Note: The assignments depend on one another (last assignment attached) In this assignment, you will create a risk management plan. You have a budget of $100,000 and a timeline of six months for the plan. Please refer to the Risk Management Plan Template (Figure A-1 in Practical Project Risk Management) to create the plan.

Write an 8–10 page paper in which you:

1. Prepare the scope and objectives of the Risk Management Process section of the Risk Management Plan, based on the facts presented in the case study.

2. Determine the project size, based on the facts presented in the case study, and provide justification based on the Example Project Sizing Tool (Figure 3-4 in Practical Project Risk Management).

3. Select the risk tools and techniques, and complete the Risk Tools and Techniques section of the Risk Management Plan for both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the project. Provide a rationale for the selections.

4. Develop the Risk Reviews and Reporting section of the Risk Management Plan, based on the project size previously determined.

5. Define the Probability and Impacts section of the Risk Management Plan, and justify the values assigned.

6. Define the Risk Thresholds section of the Risk Management Plan, and justify the values assigned.

Reconstruct the Four Dimensions of Diversity

 For this assignment, you will reconstruct the four dimensions of diversity. Discuss each dimension, and then choose two to three characteristics of that dimension and offer an analysis of the considerations for those characteristics.

For example, in discussing the internal dimension, you choose the characteristic of the age. There are several considerations regarding age, particularly among multi-generational workers:

  • Preferences in modes and frequency of feedback.
  • Attitudes toward technology and its use in communication (i.e., social media).
  • Motivation tends to differ for a person depending on where they are in their career (e.g., at the beginning of their career and looking to move up the corporate ladder, or nearing retirement).
