Due Friday by 4 pm

For this assignment you want to  reread the client case study presented on the Course  Project Introduction page located in Module  01.

The final assignment for your  course project is a reflection. In a one to two page paper, consider the  process of creating a case file on the Norris family. Discuss each piece of the  project and your reaction to them, explaining how your applied communication  skills developed as you “worked” with the family. Include any  challenges you discovered and ways you hope to improve your communication  skills when working with future clients.

Week 4 Discussion

Review the following lecture:

Before beginning work on this discussion forum, please review the link “Doing Discussion Questions Right” and any specific instructions for this topic.

Before the end of the week, begin commenting on at least two of your classmates’ responses. You can ask technical questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be objective, clear, and concise. Always use constructive language, even in criticism, to work toward the goal of positive progress. Submit your responses in the Discussion Area.

Introduction

By the due date assigned, respond to the assigned discussion questions and submit your responses to the appropriate topic in this Discussion Area. Respond to the assigned questions using the lessons and vocabulary found in the reading.

Select any one of the following starter bullet point sections. Review the important themes within the sub-questions of each bullet point. The sub-questions are designed to get you thinking about some of the important issues. Your response should provide a succinct synthesis of the key themes in a way that articulates a clear point, position, or conclusion supported by research. Select a different bullet point section than what your peers have already posted so that we can engage in several discussions on relevant topics. If all of the bullet points have been addressed, then you may begin to reuse the bullet points with the expectation that varied responses continue.

Tasks

Question 1:

Evaluate the coaching styles, their correlation to the employee performance, and expected outcomes.

Question 2:

Analyze an article from Harvard Business Review that explains how to coach underperforming employees.

To support your work, use your course and textbook readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

Your initial posting should be addressed at 500–1000 words as noted in the attached PDF. Submit your document to this Discussion Area by the due date assigned. Be sure to cite your sources using APA format.

Project Stage 3

Complete this portion using the information in the attached Proposal.  Come up with interview questions for Toni Preckwinkle and answer them according to research you do on the policy I provided.

Thank you,

Treshana

Introduction: This course includes a staged project in which you will evaluate a public policy as identified in the Staged Project 1: Proposal. This project should involve interviewing those affected by the policy. This will reveal gaps between the public agency and the public and prepare you for applying the public value scorecard. By Module 3 you should conduct the interview(s) and summarize your findings.

Instructions: As part of your public policy evaluation, you are expected to interview a member of the community impacted by the policy or representatives of a community group impacted by the policy. Summarize your interview here.

Your summary should include:

  1. Who you interviewed and their position in the community impacted by the policy
  2. The context of the interview, such as time, date, and place
  3. What was discussed in the interview
  4. Significant findings or responses from the interviewee
  5. Your reflections on the interview, including how it informs your view of the policy you are examining
  6. A list of the questions you asked

Submission: There is no set length for this component of the project, but expect the body of the summary to be three to four pages (750-1,000 words) in length.

standard test review

Although standardized tests are widely used today in America’s schools, many may not be aware of how these tests are created.

Your course text the explains the general process of developing a standardized test. For this assignment, your task is to use the information provided in your text to create a flowchart, which is a type of diagram used to visually represent some kind of process. These flowcharts can be made using Word or PowerPoint. Your flowchart will need to represent each of the steps required to develop a standardized test, and for each of the steps you will need to include a graphic of some type and compose a paragraph describing what happens at that point in the process. You can either include the paragraphs in your flowchart if space/design permits, or you can include the descriptions on a separate piece of paper, but be sure to include the important terminology associated with each.

In addition to the paragraphs for your flowchart, include an another paragraph describing what standardized test used in public schools in your state/local area, along with a short description of it. You might find it helpful to begin your research on your state’s department of education website.

APA requirements for this assignment are as follows: Title page (no headings need to be included); pages numbered; overall APA formatting with one inch margins, double spacing, and recommended font; reference page with correct information if you use something other than the Bible or your textbook for this course.

HRM 599

According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were about 16.3 million union workers in 2000 and 14.7 million union workers in 2018.

a. If the change in the number of union workers is considered to be linear, write an equation expressing the number y of union workers in terms of the number x of years since 2000.

b. Assuming that the equation in part “a” remains accurate, use it to predict the number of union workers in 2050.

c. Is the number that you came up with in 1b realistic? Why or why not? What can interfere with the future number of union workers that the equation does not account for?

Problem #2: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 1990, 529,000 people worked in the air transportation industry. In 2018, the number was 498,780.

a. Find a linear equation giving the number of employees in the air transportation industry in terms of x, the number of years since 1990.

b. Assuming the equation remains valid in the future, in what year will there be 400,000 employees in the air transportation industry?

c. Is the number you came up with in 2b realistic? Why or why not? What can interfere with the future number of employees working in the air transportation industry that the equation does not account for?

Problem #3: The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that in 1990, 1.1 million people worked in the truck transportation industry. In 2018, the number was 1.5 million.

a. Find a linear equation giving the number of employees in the truck transportation industry in terms of x, the number of years since 1990.

b. Assuming the equation remains valid in the future, in what year will there be 2.5 million employees in the truck transportation industry?

c. Is the number you came up with in 3b realistic? Why or why not? What can interfere with the future number of employees working in the trucking industry that the equation does not account for?

Though the philosophy and values surrounding couple and family counseling emphasize prevention and wellness, awareness of diagnosis is important when interacting with other mental health professionals who may view mental health issues through the medical model. The DSM-5, the primary diagnostic system/manual used in the United States by such professionals, identifies and describes individual mental health disorders, not relational issues or disorders.

Those mental health professionals who adopt a systems or relational view of mental health have been able to implement small changes within the DSM in its subsequent editions, and these changes acknowledge the systemic influence on certain individual disorders. Nevertheless, there is not yet an adopted diagnostic structure for relational problems. Therefore, you may sometimes need to negotiate your relational perspective with other professionals and communicate client matters with insurance reimbursement boards (who see mental health problems as individual in nature) in their language.

For this Discussion, you will examine the DSM-5 and how it informs your professional practice. You also explore the advantages and disadvantages of being familiar with the DSM-5.

By Day 4

Post an example of a specific instance in which you may need to consult with another mental health professional who utilizes the DSM-5. Then, explain how your familiarity with the DSM-5 may influence this consultation. Next, explain one advantage and one disadvantage of a couple and family practitioner being familiar with the DSM-5. Be specific.
