We have all worked in a group or team at some point in our careers. A  team is brought together to achieve a common goal. The team needs to  have members who have complementary skills and who are committed to a  common purpose to achieve performance goals. However, teams don’t move  immediately toward performing, but instead evolve over time. There are  five stages of group and team development.

  1. Forming – Getting oriented and getting acquainted. High degree  of uncertainty as members as they try to figure out who is in charge.
  2. Storming – Personalities start to emerge, along with roles and conflicts within the group.
  3. Norming – In the third stage conflicts are resolved, relationships developed, harmony and unity surfaces.
  4. Performing – The members concentrate on solving problems and completing the assigned task.
  5. Adjourning – Members prepare to disband. Some members may be reassigned, terminated from the group or the group is resolved.

Think about a time when you joined a new group . . . it could be at work, in a family setting or with a social group.

  • Which of the five stages was the most challenging for the group to work through, and why?
  • How might you have helped the group work through that stage  differently based upon what you know now about the five stages of group  and team development?

A long time ago, in more repressed times, people were not always allowed to openly criticize their governments. Doing so could bring them grave harm. As a means of communicating amongst each other, clever rhymes were created and passed around as a way to parody certain public figures or events.

For this assignment you will choose four nursery rhymes to investigate and study. For each nursery rhyme you will need to do the following:

  • Provide the text of the nursery rhyme.
  • Identify where it originated from and the time period.
  • Discuss the historical context(s) or meaning behind each one (there may be more than one).
  • Cite all your sources using MLA.
  • This assignment should be 2-3 pages in length.

Discussion

 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of both team-based performance management  and individual-based performance management. Suggest three pros and  three cons of each type of management. Justify your response.
  • Next, choose three of the best practices for addressing the facets  of team-based performance management. Recommend a strategy for your  current or past organization to incorporate the identified practices.  Provide a rationale for your response.

Introduction:

In the project for week three, you developed a plan to link the performance management system with an organization’s strategic goals. Now, it is time to evaluate the following concepts: coaching, coaching styles, coaching process, and performance review.

Tasks:

  • Evaluate the components of coaching.
  • Integrate coaching styles with the Hersey-Blanchard Situational Leadership Theory.
  • Analyze the coaching process.
  • Evaluate each element of the performance review meetings.

To support your work, use your course and text readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

At this stage, you have a solid understanding of the problem the  company is facing and you have provided a solution for your client. Now,  you want Larson Property Management to accept your project plan. Mr.  Larson and Ms. Johnson like your idea and would like you to present your  project plan to the executive board.   

Use the feedback from your instructor on previous assignments,  the textbook, and any other resources provided in the course to create a  professional project plan that you will be hypothetically presenting to  the Executive Board of Larson Property Management.

  • Executive Summary.  
  • Organizational Plan and Analysis.

  • Recommendation for an HRIS Vendor.

Do not simply copy and paste Phases I–V. The previous phases  were considered raw data, and now you will be summarizing and finalizing  your findings. Use the feedback you received from your instructor to  improve your proposal. You want to apply critical thinking to describe  the data you have obtained.  

Write a 4–6 page proposal in which you: 

  1. Identify the current issues the business is facing based on  the details of the scenario, and provide a plan and analysis for an HRIS  based on those issues. 
  2. Provide a blueprint for the new system, and propose a type of  HRIS for the organization that you believe is the most efficient and  effective. Discuss the function that the HRIS serves, and identify how  that system will solve the business issue.  
  3. Compare and contrast at least three HRIS vendors. Based on  this comparison, make a case for the one vendor that you recommend for  your client. 
  4. Determine how you will implement the HRIS using one of the change models discussed in the textbook.  
  5. Create a project management roadmap for the client with  projected timelines. Discuss the costs associated with the  implementation, justifying your claims with a cost benefit analysis.  
  6. Explain how you will ensure the system is properly maintained and evaluated for continuous improvement.   
  7. Use at least four quality academic resources in this  assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as  academic resources.
