8500: Assignment 2

This week’s self-assessment, located in your text, is a brief individual leadership assessment entitled “Proactivity.” As a leader, it is important for you to understand your own proactivity as well as to recognize a particular proactivity for others.

For this Professional Leadership Journal, complete the “Proactivity” assessment. As a scholar-practitioner in the field of health care administration, consider what the assessment may reveal about your perception of external and internal proactivity. How might your perception of proactivity impact your leadership role in the field of health care administration?

The Assignment (2–3 paragraphs):

  • Explain new insights gained based on your results of the “Proactivity” assessment, including how these results contribute to your personal perception of proactivity for leadership.
  • Explain how these new insights might impact your current or future role in health care administration leadership.

Business Ethics

Describe business ethics and its importance and talk about the assessments.  300 words.

Self-assessments are a beneficial tool to provide one with more insight on why they are the way they are. During week one you will complete three self-assessments in this course related to ethics. You will record your results on your ethics portfolio.

Based on your ethical assessments completed for this course during week one, what are your initial thoughts on how your individual results compare to have you view ethics personally and how you view ethics in business. You are encouraged to share some specific examples of your assessment results to support your opinion. However, if you would like to keep your results private, you can speak to your results in general terms.

Please provide 1-2 examples to support your viewpoints that other learners will be able to assess and debate within our weekly discussion forum.

“Force Rankings”

Take a stance for or against forced ranking. Support your response with examples of two (2) pros and two (2) cons that you must consider in your stance.

Specify two (2) legal considerations to which an organization may be susceptible if it were to implement forced ranking performance evaluation systems unfairly and inaccurately. Suggest the key corrective actions that an organization could take to rectify issues that arise from said unfair and inaccurate implementation.

2/2

Focus on the following for this assignment:

· Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of a centralized or functional organization versus a decentralized or product organization.

· How do these two types of organizations align with basic strategies such as low cost versus differentiation and status quo versus new opportunities?

Cost Comparison of web conferencing

Cost Comparison of Web Conferencing

The two owners of Spinner Media Services Inc. wanted to cut travel costs and productivity losses (wasted time) and maintain the benefits of person-to-person collaboration. They decided to use Web conferencing internally for collaboration and externally for sales demonstrations to customers. Their two options were (1) a pay-per-use basis or (2) a per user licensing plan based on the number of seats or participants. The decision would depend on cost comparisons based on these data estimates:

  • Approximately 400 meetings per year
  • An average of 12 participants per meeting
  • Each meeting lasting about one hour, which takes into consideration the need to get the meeting set up at least 15 minutes in advance and meeting for 45 minutes
  • 250 unique participants, consisting of 50 employees and 200 customers
  1. Research the costs of a pay-per-use plan vs. a per user licensing plan based on the number of seats or participants for Microsoft’s Zoom and Cisco’s WebEx. Or evaluate two other pieces of web-based meeting software. Precise cost comparisons are difficult because there are so many variables, but a general cost analysis between Zoom and WebEx or other software is feasible.
  2. Design a spreadsheet that shows cost comparisons of the vendors’ licensing options and the pay-per-use option using the data estimates.
  3. Identify other criteria that should be taken into account when making such a decision (for example, vendor support or the ability to integrate with Outlook).
  4. Based on your analysis, make a fully documented recommendation to the owners.

SLP Assignment Expectations

Prepare an Excel spreadsheet that fulfills the criteria for this SLP assignment. Be sure to use formulas and graphs within Excel so they can be reviewed. In a Word document, interpret the meaning of your analytical findings from the spreadsheet. The Word document should present the results to the owners of Spinner Media Services. Use analytics and graphs in your report and then describe the results. Remember you can copy spreadsheets and graphs into Word but you need to upload both the Word document and the Excel document to the SLP drop box.

2. design a total rewards program that incorporates monetary, nonmonetary, and environmental elements in order to ensure organizational success

In this final assignment, you will design a total rewards program based on the organization where you work and/or used for assignment one.

Before creating the final projected total rewards program, you will have conducted a research project in which you have obtained original data thorough and detailed information about organizational goals, objectives, and challenges. In addition, you will have obtained information about the current monetary and non-monetary rewards and work environment of the organization and the challenges or changes (such as expansions, downsizing, changes of services or products) the organization anticipates. You will have also designed metrics to evaluate the total rewards program.

In the final paper, you will provide the research findings in a report of at least 10 pages plus a title page and a reference page. Provide at least eight sources (in APA format) in a reference list and respective in-text citations. At least 5 of these sources must be from course materials. Please be sure to use topic headings and include the following:

1.  Provide a Title Page in Academic Format

2.  Give the Introduction and Purpose for the Paper

3.  Summarize and describe the organization, including its capabilities, key goals, objectives, challenges, values, and core competencies required for success.

4.  Demonstrate your knowledge of the total rewards model by describing the current total rewards philosophy of the organization and its three categories of offerings.

5.  Identify and describe the segmentation of the workforce (drawing up our study of how to differentiate employee groups depending on their drivers, such as flexible schedules, growth potential, desire for demonstrating individual expertise or team success, low obligation and easy income, or high obligation and high income).

6.  Describe further the current requisite capabilities of the organization and the competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities) of the employees and, in your opinion, an analysis of whether the current needs will change given the issues faced by the organization.

7.  Recommend changes to the total rewards program, along with specific plans, including plans for communicating the changes and metrics that should be used by the organization to evaluate the success of the new program.

8.  Present the justification for your recommendations.

9.  Assess and discuss the risks of not implementing the program and the opportunities the program will give the organization.

10.  Provide your metrics for evaluating the total rewards program and share why you chose the ones you did.

11. Describe your conclusions and a summary of knowledge gained about total rewards through the activity.

12. Reference Page (with at least eight scholarly sources), at least 5 of these should be from course materials.
