This week’s self-assessment, located in your text, is a brief individual leadership assessment entitled “Value Systems.” This simple assessment is designed to initiate your thinking on the topic of values in leadership and how your values might impact your leadership in the field of health care administration.

For this Professional Leadership Journal, complete the “Value Systems” assessment. As a scholar-practitioner in the field of health care administration, reflect on what the assessment may reveal about your leadership values. What values may be important to you as a leader in the field of health care administration? 

The Assignment (2–3 paragraphs):

• Explain new insights gained based on your results of the “Value Systems” assessment. 
• Explain how these new insights might impact your current or future role as a health care administration leader.

Explore at least five of the following aspects of terrorism and the press in a 5-7 page paper.

1. Define terrorism.
2. Explain the role media plays in terrorist acts.
3. Describe how media influences foreign policy.
4. Analyze the characteristics of media events related to terrorism.
5. Compare distinguishing characteristics of different forms of media.

 Post a description of two challenges you believe a Human Resources professional might face in implementing HR strategies in their Operating Plan. Explain how you can best address these challenges as part of the AHROP implementation planning. Discussion 1: Patients’ Perception About Religion and Spirituality

Religion and spirituality are complex constructs that have the capacity to influence patients’ illnesses, courses of treatment, and experiences. Medical social workers may feel unsure of how to address patients’ religious beliefs. Despite knowledge about the benefits of medications and treatment in illness management, social workers may hear patient comments such as, “I don’t need medicine. God is going to heal me.” In situations of conflicting ideas, it is important for medical social workers to consider the standards and tenets that govern the profession. Medical social workers must listen, not judge, and promote a patient’s self-determination. In addition, they must accept that they may not be able to address a patient’s religious or spiritual needs and call upon colleagues such as pastors, priests, imams, and rabbis who are more qualified in these areas

Read Case Study 10-2, “Must a Union Process a Grievance of a Nonunion Employee?” on page 463 of your textbook. Then, answer the questions provided. 

1. What are nonunion employee rights under the LMRA? 
2. What is meant by the union’s duty of fair representation? 
3. When has the union met its obligation of fair representation? 
4. Has the union in this case met its fair representation obligation? Explain.
