Based on the chapters reading and the attached articles, in a 3-5 page paper, explain the following:

  • How do product characteristics influence packaging and materials handling considerations?
  • What are some environmental disadvantages to plastic packaging?
  • What environmentally friendly packaging strategies might a firm adopt?
  • Discuss the advantages/disadvantages to public warehousing.
  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of private warehousing?

Leaders set the tone for an organization, provide examples for behavior and problem solving, and have influence over organizational behavior. Leaders align their methodology through the application of managing processes and people. Differences among individuals, however, can create challenges and, in many cases, lead to conflict. 

  1. Consider your organization or an organization you research (provide the URL to the organization). Identify ways to handle conflict within the workplace that may occur with individuals from different cultures. 
  2. As a leader, what things must you consider when dealing with a conflict of this nature, and what steps would you take to deal with the conflict?  
  3. Practical Application: Describe a conflict you handled in your professional life. How did you respond to someone challenging your viewpoint? What are some best practices for dealing with conflict in this type of situation (be sure to share specific recommendations).

Symbol

Symbols have always been important parts of the human experience. For this project, I want you to think about the symbols that define our/your culture and society today, and how they are sometimes used and abused by certain groups (including groups that promote pseudoarchaeology) to create and promote their ideology.

Leading and Managing the HR Project

Continuing from the previous assignment, it is now important to consider your approach to leading and managing your HR project. Tightly structured projects tend to restrict cross-organizational communication. As such, objectives originate at the top of the project and are subdivided as they are passed down, resulting in little opportunity for creative contributions. Effective leadership and managing of the project can greatly improve communication and team contributions.

Instructions

Write a 5–6 page paper in which you:

  1. Review and understand the types of project manager      power listed and defined in the textbook, select and define any two      you feel would be relevant to your current project, and explain why. Be      specific.
  2. Identify and briefly discuss a minimum of      four outcomes (possible issues) resulting from managing projects, and      address how you might resolve the issues. Be clear with your rationale.
