CT3 Presentation

Option #1: Small Employer Reward Management System

Create a presentation that introduces the reward  management system deployed by the small employer, Alfa I Omega (AIO) (Chapter  14) that allows it to compete with larger companies to get top-flight workers  (Odrakiewicz, Szulc, & Odrakiewicz, 2018). Incorporate into the  presentation the governmental factors that influence reward systems in this  country and your evaluation of whether or not the premise of small raises and more pay  at risk would work in the United States and in a large company. Conclude your  presentation with advice or tips for AIO to make its reward system even  stronger so it can compete with larger companies for key personnel.

Your presentation should:

  1. Be 10-12  slides in length (not including cover and reference slides).
  2. Include  presenter’s notes for each slide to further detail the key text that is  included on each slide.
  3. Integrate  a minimum of three scholarly articles in addition to course resources.
  4. Note:  Citations integrated into the presentations and all references must be formatted  according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA (Links to an external site.).

Unit I Annotated Bibliography

Instructions

In Unit II, you will write and submit a research paper that addresses the following items:

  • how the role of human resource management is important to the establishment of strategy and structure in an organization;
  • how organizational, environmental, and individual challenges influence work-flow analysis;
  • how work-flow analysis supports strategy and organizational structure;
  • how motivation theories feed into a strong organizational workforce;
  • how job design and job analysis is important to organizational structure; and
  • how the relationship between a flexible workforce and the human resource information systems supports the strategy and organizational structure.

In preparation for this research paper (due in Unit II), your assignment is to complete a literature search for articles you will use to support your research paper.

Locate two peer-reviewed journal articles from the CSU Online Library, and submit a one-page annotated bibliography for the two resources that you found. Here is the link to the library’s video on how to find peer-reviewed articles: http://libguides.columbiasouthern.edu/howtopeerreviewed

Include an explanation of why the sources were selected and how they are of value to the topic. Use APA style for this assignment.

Resistance Risk Mitigation Intervention Table Overview

Supporting Document 2: Resistance Risk Mitigation Intervention Table

Overview

Using the same scenario from Identifying the Organizational Learning Issue, you realize that transitioning your organization to a learning environment may not be as easy as first imagined. You have encountered several resistance issues relating to the culture, psychological learning, organization structure, workforce commitment, and dissemination of knowledge. You decide to gather a decision-making team to assist in identifying the high or moderate resistance risks that may stop or slow down the process of this transition. The decision-making team must also recommend some mitigation intervention to lower the identified resistance risks to either moderate or low. For example, a high resistance risk can become moderate or low and moderate resistance risk can become low.

Your final product will be a table that identifies five issues related to the organization’s culture, psychological learning, organization structure, workforce commitment, and dissemination of knowledge. You must also provide a description of each resistance issue and rate the resistance risk before the mitigation intervention as either High (H) or Moderate (M). Then, you must provide a description of your team’s mitigation intervention and determine the resistance risk’s downgrade from High (H) to Moderate (M) or Low (L) and/or Moderate (M) to Low (L) after the mitigation intervention.

Instructions

Create a table in which you:

  1. Determine one challenge in the culture that may cause a major resistance to the transition from individual learning to organizational learning. Next, recommend one mitigation intervention to downgrade the identified resistance in your table. Provide a rationale for your selected mitigation intervention.
  2. Predict one psychological learning threat that may result from the transition and then provide one mitigation intervention to downgrade the identified resistance in your table. Provide a rationale for your selected mitigation intervention.
  3. Assess the current organization structure as it relates to the free flow of knowledge, then specify one issue that may cause a major resistance to the transition. Provide one mitigation intervention to downgrade the identified resistance in your table. Provide a rationale for your selected mitigation intervention.
  4. Critique the workforce commitment to this transition and predict one major resistance you may encounter. Next, provide a mitigation intervention to downgrade the identified resistance in your table. Provide a rationale for your selected mitigation intervention.
  5. Propose one dissemination of knowledge issue with the recipients’ ability to absorb the knowledge and comprehend it into action (that is, motivating the recipient to share knowledge). Next, provide one mitigation intervention to downgrade the identified resistance in your table. Provide a rationale for your selected mitigation intervention.
  6. Use the Resistance Risk Mitigation Intervention Table template located here. You may also use Microsoft Word or other equivalent software to create a table in an equivalent format for this supporting document.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Create a table to identify transition resistance risks and an intervention to mitigate each.

healthcare human resource management

Employee Rewards and Recognition

As an HR manager in a large healthcare organization, you have developed a new reward and recognition program designed to help increase employee motivation and job satisfaction in a specific hospital department of your choice. You may choose a clinical or nonclinical department.

Based on the course readings and a minimum of four appropriate sources of research, create a 4–6 page executive summary suitable for presentation to senior leadership on employee motivation that includes the following:

  1. Determine which department is best suited for the reward and recognition program.
  2. Identify a specific goal the employees must work on to be eligible for recognition or to receive the award.
    • Examples include reducing errors, increasing customer/patient satisfaction, or reducing costs.
  3. Research a specific motivation theory and determine why this method would be the most practical and effective for this program.
    • Examples are the expectancy theory, equity theory, goal-setting theory, Management by Objectives (MBO), or the four-prong model of intrinsic motivation.
  4. Explain why the selected theory would be the most practical and effective for the rewards and recognition program.
  5. Recommend 2–3 types of rewards and/or recognition that would the most effective in motivating the employees to achieve the goals.
  6. Create a communication tool for eligible employees announcing the program, rules, and awards.
    • Examples: Email, newsletter, internal Facebook post.
  7. Go to the Strayer Online Library and locate at least four quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not quality as academic resources.

Proposal

This assignment picks up where the last one left off.  Going back to your research paper,  tell us about where you work and how you would propose applying what you learned about your chosen topic to your organization. How, exactly, would you apply the best practices you identified and how would doing so benefit your organization?  Prepare this paper as a proposal (see guidelines for proposal writing attached).  Include five or more solid references in your paper.  Use APA style guidelines; double-space the paper; and aim for the paper to be approximately five pages long, excluding cover page and references.

PLEASE UTILIZE THE UMGC LIBRARY FOR SOURCES – DO NOT USE READINGS FROM THIS COURSE TO COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT.

From your previous the research paper.

Choose one of the topics below that interests you and, using the UMGC library, research best practices in this area.  Summarize your findings.  Please limit resources to those that are less than ten years old, and follow these guidelines for crafting your paper – Research Papers

Topics:  Choose one topic from the list below.  You can choose to explore a narrow issue relative to that topic – for example – if you choose diversity and inclusion, you may be interested in best practices in recruiting women into roles in technology.  Before starting your research, it may help to have a question in mind that you would like to answer – like – “I know companies are moving away from traditional performance reviews. Why is that and what are they replacing them with?”  I’d love to know the question you are trying to answer at the start of your paper.  It would be helpful to choose a topic that would apply to the organization you work for (or one that you most recently worked for) because assignment 2 will ask you to apply the best practices you learned about to your own organization!
