Discussion

According to the NASW Code of Ethics section 6.04 (NASW, 2008), social workers are ethically bound to work for policies that support the healthy development of individuals, guarantee equal access to services, and promote social and economic justice.

Consider what change you might make to the policies that affect the client in the case you chose. Finally, think about how you might evaluate the success of the policy changes.

Post an explanation of one change you might make to the policies that affect the client in the case. Be sure to reference the case you selected in your post. Finally, explain how you might evaluate the success of the policy changes.

Support your post with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.

Many organizations focus on continuous improvement processes to aid efficiency improvement, reduce waste, and/or maximize profits. In your posting, discuss three of the continuous improvement foci areas you have experienced in your job or organization and discuss the effectiveness (or benefits) of such initiatives. Decide what change management issues are present that limit the organization’s efforts in continuous improvement. What are the forces driving the initiative? What practices could be improved? What should be abandoned? Respond to at least two of your fellow classmates’ postings.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT-Home Depot

Welcome to the second Case Assignment for this course. Please read the following article (along with the others in the required readings) and learn how Cessna went through a very substantial and well-documented quality initiative program to improve its logistics systems.

Morgan, J. P., (2002, June 6). Cessna aims to drive SCM to its very core. Purchasing, 131(10), 31-35. Retrieved on December 12, 2014, from ProQuest in the Trident Online Library.

Abstract:

When Michael R. Katzorke, vice president of supply management at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., began working on the company’s supply chain management system in 1998, Cessna was still a traditional aerospace firm. It had a functional orientation, was vertically integrated, had traditional processes and practices, and there was no provision for Total Quality Management or Six Sigma. To bring about the more fundamental and permanent changes they were seeking, Katzorke and his Cessna colleagues—both at the executive level and in supply management—have developed and deployed no fewer than twenty-one practices and tools aimed at: 1. driving the best possible supply-base rationalization decisions, 2. accelerating the supply-base rationalization process, 3. improving suppliers’ performance, and 4. integrating key suppliers with Cessna’s critical business, manufacturing, and design processes. Brief discussions of each of these steps are presented.

Case Assignment

For your Case Assignment, please research a different organization that has also gone through a major logistics quality initiative recently and write a 5- to 6-page case paper reviewing that process. Discuss why the company took on this initiative, what were the results, and how did this effort help improve the logistics/supply chain management in this company? Be sure to provide the different steps in this change process and any issues or problems that occurred.

Be sure to use at least three references. The references that you find must be recent (within the past 6 years) and they must be firsthand references. You may not use references that are other students’ research. AND you CANNOT use the same organization that you are using to write your SLP papers.

Assignment Expectations

Research the topic with information from the background readings as well as any other resources you find on your own. The paper should be 5–6 pages in length and have a cover sheet and a reference page. Clarity of presentation is important, as well as your ability to cover the topic in a succinct, organized manner with research to back up your points. Use at least 3 different sources of information and annotate your sources of information appropriately on your references page and within the text as necessary. You will be assessed on how well you apply your knowledge of quality control programs in a real-world situation. Submit your assignment for grading by the end of this module.

Assignment 1- 8130

How does a health care administrator determine which social media tool is most appropriate for an intended audience or health message? Using social media tools to communicate health messages offers many benefits including instantaneous feedback, establishing a networked community, and enhanced information dissemination. With these thoughts in mind, how might these benefits transcend into the marketing of a new health care service?

For this Assignment, reflect on a health service and target population that you would like to use as part of a marketing plan. The health service and target population you select will become the focus of your Final Project. Consider contemporary social media tools and other communication technology tools you might use for your marketing plan. Think about which tools might provide your marketing plan the greatest scope and which social media tools might be most appropriate for the health care service you chose. Then select two social media tools for your marketing plan.

Note: The completion of this Assignment will consist of the elements necessary for Component 1 of your Final Project.

The Assignment (1–2 pages)

  • Describe the health service for which you intend to develop a marketing plan, including an explanation of why this service is needed and the potential target audience for this service.
  • Describe the two social media tools you selected for your marketing plan.
  • Explain how the social media tools you selected are most appropriate for your intended audience and health service in your marketing plan.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I could use the word “project” to describe almost every task I do on a daily basis. I have class projects, I have work projects, I have home improvement projects, my kids have projects, heck I consider weekly dinner plans a project. I believe that all aspects of my life could benefit from using project management. Project management helps to plan, manage and execute any task whether it be a project or task I’m doing for work or home. Establishing a clear and organized plan improves teamwork. Sometimes my team consists of co-workers, other times it consists of other parents from my child’s sports teams and sometimes when I reference “my team” I’m talking about my husband and two boys.

Take for instance my example of weekly dinner plans being a project. Every week, usually Friday morning, I build out a dinner plan for each day of the upcoming week. I decide what we will have for dinner each day and from that build out a grocery list. When making my grocery list I also have to consider our budget for that week which may affect the items that are on my list and what I plan for dinner. I also have to communicate with my husband and children to get their input on the meals. This communication ensures that I am making food they will enjoy and consume, otherwise, it is money wasted. Especially now, I also have to plan for the possibility of the grocery store being out of items that are on my list, so I also have a list of alternatives just in case.  By treating our weekly dinner menu as a project, I ensure that I am not having to run to the grocery store multiple times a week or going through the “what’s for dinner” crisis every day which saves so much time. I am not overspending or purchasing items I don’t need which keeps me on budget. Lastly, my objective of planning dinner for the next week is met.

Basically, applying project management to everyday life is about control. Having a plan that is properly managed can make you feel more in control and allows less room for chaos and in my experience, less chaos is better for everyone!
