1. Please review the following video. Brian Johnson discusses an old book that is still popular today. This is a very person-centered book on where wisdom comes from…it’s about developing yourself. It profoundly influenced me as a young girl, and through time, changed the circumstances of my life. Remember what I have said: You can manage your life, or you can lead it. Looking back on my life, I believe I lead it, even when I didn’t realize it. It felt like “barely managing it” at times when I was young. But now I realize that some of the yardsticks I was using to measure myself were invalid. I was just too young and inexperienced to realize that.

As you have explored in this course, ongoing challenges in the global business environment are mostly attributed to unethical business practices, failure to embrace technology advancements, and stiff competition among businesses. Imagine that you have been appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer of a Fortune 500 company and must prepare a presentation for your suppliers regarding your Supplier Code of Conduct to deliver via email, webinar, etc.

For this assignment, you are to create a presentation using PowerPoint (or other equivalent software) and your research on the Fortune 500 company from Assignment 1. In your presentation, you are to summarize the important changes and explanations regarding the code of conduct that you would communicate via email, webinar, etc. The specific requirements are listed below.

Create a six to eight (6-8) slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:

1. Summarize your chosen company’s Supplier Responsibility information.

2. In your own words, explain how each aspect of your Supplier Code of Conduct is committed to ethical business practices and society social responsibility.

3. Discuss your company’s stance on each of the following areas:

• Health and Safety

4. Identify the key ways that your company’s Code of Conduct has changed since last year.

5. Examine the manner in which your company’s Supplier Code of Conduct helps the organization operate as a socially responsible organization.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is as follows:

• Examine the factors that account for why the growth in the world’s population can negatively affect the global society. 

The purpose of this assignment is for you to think critically about how a National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) could impact your leadership style as an emergency manager. Think about all of the leadership theories that you studied in this course. Think about the theories that align with your leadership style. Then, write a two-page essay that answers each of the following questions: 

• How does NIMS impact your leadership style as an emergency manager? 
• How does ICS impact your leadership style as an emergency manager? 
• Which leadership theories might conflict with NIMS and ICS? Explain.

 For each set of readings, students will keep an active reading journal. In it, at least 2 or 3 of the readings from that unit should be specifically covered. As discussed in the unit lesson, resolving conflict in the workplace requires using interpersonal skills, management skills, and techniques. Interpersonal skills can consist of understanding individual differences, self-esteem, self-confidence, communication, teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, cultural relations skills, motivation skills, customer service skills, ethical behavior skills, and stress management skills. Management skills focus on the type of management skill applied such as collaborating, accommodating, forcing, avoiding, and compromising. As a member of the workforce, you must be able to effectively resolve conflict, either with the use of interpersonal skills, management skills, or by applying the recommended ways of responding to tension in the workplace (e.g., overcoming defensiveness, accepting of the tension, and resolving the tension).

For your Unit VI Assignment, please reflect on your knowledge of resolving conflict that you have experienced or observed in the workplace. Please analyze what you have learned. Describe how your learned knowledge can be used. Also, identify how this information can be used to resolve conflict in the workplace in your current job or from a past incident you have experienced. What steps/methods were used in resolving the conflict?

Your reflection paper should be at least three pages in length, including an introduction, a body that supports your reflection, and a conclusion. Be sure to include a title page. The title page does not count toward the total page requirement.
