Ensuring an Ethical Workplace

Access Walmart’s Global Statement of Ethics and identify the key stakeholders and their corresponding responsibilities (pages 5-7). Assume you are the Chief Ethics Officer for Walmart responsible for enforcing the company’s ethics policy. Identify 2-3 methods or measures your team might incorporate to ensure all stakeholder responsibilities are met.

The Modern Health Care Leader Submission

Effective leaders can use their emotions in a positive way to benefit their organization, its employees, and stakeholders. Dye and Garman (2006) state, “The most effective leaders have a deeper understanding of their emotion” (p. 18), in their discussion of emotional intelligence (EI) and why it is important.

Over the last several years, organizations that are actively engaged in leadership development have expressed keen interest in understanding EI. Research suggests that EI may be more important than intellectual intelligence in determining leadership success, and leadership development programs may offer better outcomes if EI is better understood (Sadri, 2012).

  • Write a paper that defines and describes emotional intelligence.
  • Additionally, detail the value of EI possession among health care leaders.
  • Provide at least 1 example, real or hypothetical, of how emotional intelligence has been or can be used by effective leaders.

Communication is a key component to any and all aspects of HRM.  While some of the information may be covered in other classes such as HRM 302, begin to develop your understanding of HR-related communication.

Compliance or Values

Review chapter 7 of the text book discussing compliance versus values-based ethical cultures. First, describe the main differences of each type of ethical culture and then decide which type you would recommend to your organization and why.

Global Human Capital Trends and Goal Alignment Requirements (400-600 words) APA format w/references

The briefing to John and the board of directors was a success. You and Shawn believe that it allowed them to understand the challenges associated with managing global human capital effectively and the value of recognizing human capital as a critical part of AGC’s strategic plan. John and the board of directors gave every indication that they understood the sense of urgency needed to align the key global human capital goals with those established for the entire global organization. In fact, they asked you to move ahead with developing global human capital goals for AGC as part of its strategic plan.

You will begin by evaluating the existing organizational culture and analyzing the leadership styles used at each global AGC subsidiary. The company has several global subsidiaries, each with significant cultural differences. Shawn believes that AGC would benefit from an organizational culture that is more proactive and competitive. Strategies to consider when delivering performance appraisals to health care employees are to prepare, make it a conversation, have an actions plan, set goals, and to document. To prepare means to review previous appraisals, this will give you something to compare their progress to. It’s also helpful to review their most recent work and provide feedback as needed, not just on an annual basis. Making it a conversation eases the tension because the employee doesn’t feel lectured. Instead they become more open and honest when they’re involved. An action plan helps with the employees strengths and weaknesses, as it’s directed towards their goals. Which is the next strategy, to set clear and realistic goals for the employee during the appraisal. The final strategy is to properly document everything, this way you have something to look back and compare it to the following year.

The company I work for completes performance appraisals every year, through a process that has a few steps. They first have us complete a self-evaluation, that goes to the manager. Then the manager completes their part, meets with the employee and reviews the appraisal. Money is not discussed, instead we are given an envelope with a letter that shows what our percentage increase is if any. You can either sign the appraisal agreeing or request to further discuss. I think it’s a good process because it makes it less awkward for my manager and myself.

Module 05 Course Project – Final Presentation

 

The final presentation must be 10 to 20 slides (not including title or reference slide). The presentation should include a cover slide and a thesis that lays out the main idea about your selected country’s healthcare system. (India) Make sure your presentation also has a recommendation. The points should be supported by research from at least five different scholarly and valid sources.
