Eddie is a loyal long tenured non-exempt employee working for the Director of Facilities. Her normal work hours at 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with an hour for lunch. On most occasions, Eddie brings her lunch. She warms her lunch in the department’s kitchen, return to her desk to scan the web reading current news articles, shopping on QVC, reading people magazine and at times chatting with family members over the phone.   It is not uncommon that Eddie will answer the department phone, taking messages for her boss or dealing with vendors. There have been occasions when Eddie has even made copies of documents for some of the facilities workers. It only takes a few minutes to do these little things, Eddie is happy to help out and quickly returns to her lunch plans.

As the HR manager, does the company have a problem?  If so, what type(s) of a problem(s) do you have and how do you handle it?

Please select a peer-reviewed article from the GU library on the topics for the current week. Analyze the article and correlate to your personal ethics assessment results. You are encouraged to share some specific examples of your assessment results to support your opinion. However, if you would like to keep your results private, you can speak to your results in general terms.

This assignment is designed to familiarize you with the four corporate-level strategies- concentration, vertical integration, related diversification, and unrelated diversification. Please read Chapter 6 in the textbook, review the lecture notes, and do some preliminary research on these four corporate-level strategies and analyze a hospitality company’s corporate-level strategy. 

Specifically, please answer the following five questions: 

1. Briefly describe the business-unit strategy of concentration;
    
2. Briefly describe the business-unit strategy of vertical integration;
    
3. Briefly describe the business-unit strategy of related diversification;
    
4. Briefly describe the business-unit strategy of unrelated diversification; and
    
5. Apply your understanding of the four corporate-level strategies to analyze a hospitality
   company that you worked at, are currently working/interning at, or are interested in working for after you graduate. What is its corporate-level strategy? What made you conclude that this company is employing this strategy at its corporate level?
    

To complete the simplified version of the report please follow these steps:

1. Create a strategy map for an organization of your choosing
2. Identify the HR deliverables (outcomes) from the strategy map and develop an HR strategy map, that links back to the organizational map.
3. Explain how your HR architecture (policies, processes, and practices) will align, to allow HR to deliver on your identified deliverable.
4. Explain how the HR architecture (policies, processes, and practices) for your identified deliverable would align (horizontal alignment) with other pieces of HR architecture to reinforce each other.
5. Develop an HR Scorecard
6. Add the metrics, measures, scores & targets to your HR Scorecard

You are encouraged to use graphs and tables to make key points stand out, but don’t forget that you must still explain very clearly to the reader what the graphs and tables mean, and how and why they are relevant to your report (don’t assume the report reader will understand!).
