Need done 2morrow before 12

As you have learned, there are many ways to study social and behavioral phenomena.  Some of the methods we use involve quantifying responses (surveys, experiments, archival research), while others involve detailed descriptions based on one on one interviews, direct observation of a group, focus groups, or even case studies.  It is important to remember that qualitative researchers attempt to describe the qualities of a behavior or an experience to capture what the behavior or experience means to the participant.

Before you participate in this forum, be sure to read all assigned materials.  What are some ways in which a qualitative study of domestic violence would be different than a quantitative study on the same topic? What kinds of research questions are best answered by each method and why?  What kind of data would you generate if you conducted a survey rather than interviewing either abusers or survivors face to face?  Would you generate different data if you explored this issue in focus groups rather than face to face interviews or surveys? Support your analysis by citing examples of qualitative and quantitative studies of domestic violence.

Initial post: The initial post should be at least 200 words.

All posts should:

1.  Advance the discussion by adding to it; should not repeat information or state the obvious.

2.  Be more than a list of points–initial posts and replies should offer an analysis of the question.

3.  Use APA style in-text citations for all sources used in replies; provide a list of complete APA references at the end of the post.  Do not list a reference if you did not use it in the post–APA says to cite what you use; use what you cite.  Posts without citations will receive a zero.

4.  Run the spell and grammar checker on your text.  Verify that you used neutral, objective language and made no evaluative statements (hint, look for words like wonderful, horrible, awful, etc.)

Assume you are an HR Business Partner and leader in a full-size HR  department for your organization. Based on what you’ve learned and now  know about business employment law, what 3-4 concepts, tools, methods,  or practices would you recommend as important best practice approaches  that would help organizations implement better policies to safeguard  against employment law violations? Be sure to explain why you selected your choices.

Intercultural Communication Paper

 It consists of two parts:

Part 1:

Complete the INCA survey and develop a one-page reflection summarizing your ideas.
Part 2:

Select 3 critical incidents and analyze them. Frame your analyses of each incident using the dimensions from the INCA survey. Your analysis should contain at least three scholarly references that pertain directly to the incident. Your analysis should be complete and supported by the literature not an opinion.

Complete both parts in a formal written paper using APA format. Use headings to mark each part: Part 1 and Part 2. Use subheadings to indicate the discussion of each critical incident. Please review the requirements for all written assignments on page 3 of the syllabus. You should also review the course rubric for a breakdown of the assignment scoring.

Include a chart or graph to support your written analysis. Just be sure to explain the information presented in the chart or graph.

INCA is an acronym for Intercultural Competency Assessment. The purpose of the INCA survey is for you to examine your intercultural awareness and assess your cultural sensitivity. This activity is designed to help you become aware of your own attitude towards cultural diversity. The dimensions of cultural competence measured by the INCA survey are:1) Tolerance of ambiguity, 2) Behavioral flexibility, 3) Communicative awareness, 4) Knowledge discovery, 5) Respect for Otherness, and 6) Empathy.

NOTE: This project and the instrument created was funded by the Council of Europe and the Leonardo da Vinci II Program.  You can read more about this project, if you are interested, here:

Directions: Complete all of the INCA Survey questions. When you are done, use the INCA survey student manual to help you analyze your results. Read about the different dimensions of intercultural competency and what they mean.

Human Resources

Mary Contrary, age 42, is a single mom caring for two children – Peter, age 15, and Muffett, age 12. Mary is a full-time employee of the Garden Grow Company and works as a lead botanist.

Part 1: Mary participates in Garden Grow’s dependent care assistance plan. In 2017, Mary incurred the following dependent care expenses:

• $2,500 for a part-time housekeeper

• $1,500 for Peter’s private therapy (Peter is mentally incapacitated due to a tragic accident involving a spider bite)

• $1,000 for Muffett’s after school program

• $575 for Muffett’s summer day camp

Which, if any, of the above expenses are allowable as non-taxable?

Please write a memo answering this question, citing appropriate authority.
An IRAC-style essay is appropriate for this assignment.

Part 2: In February 2017, Mary relocated from Los Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, NV, to manage the new branch Garden Grow opened that year. She incurred the following expenses:

• $275,000 for the purchase of a house

• $5,000 for selling her Los Angeles home and finding a home in Las Vegas

• $500 for packing and moving her household goods.

• $175 for moving-related travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Garden Grow reimbursed her but did not exclude the reimbursements from her income

Which, if any, of the above expenses are deductible? Why?

Please answer in one or two paragraphs. An IRAC is NOT necessary for this part of the assignment.

THE FOUNDATION OF HEALTH CARE LAW AND ETHICS IN THE UNITED STATES

This assignment gives students the opportunity to review and dissect a legal decision—to identify its different elements, the types of laws involved, and the basis for the decision. For this assignment, be sure to carefully read Chapter 1 from the textbook as well as the court case below, Simkins v. Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. You may need to do additional research for the final question to support your analysis.

  7. The reach of this case was limited. Why is that?
  8. Explain the relationship of ethics to this decision. Be sure to identify relevant ethical principles.
