Write a 800-1500 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. • What are the four functions of deviance? Explain four different times in your life when each of these functions was present.
• Imagine you are a principal at an inner-city high school. Which theory of deviance would you apply to this situation and how would you apply it? 
• At the peak of your career, you were earning $120,000 and holding a top-level position. However, when the recession hit, your job was eliminated and you were offered a position within the company paying half your salary. Explain how each of the dimensions of stratification would change your status in society.
• As part of your senior class grade, you are required to do 40 hours of community service at a homeless shelter. Explain what you see in the shelter based on issues discussed within Chapter 6 dealing with poverty in the United States. 

Signature Assignment: Medicare and Medicaid

Consider how people qualify to receive Medicare and/or Medicaid and write a paper that addresses the bullets below. There should be four (4) sections in your paper; one for each bullet below. Assignment Expectations

Part I

The Advance Health Care Directive 

Locate a copy of an advanced directive (AD) that complies with the laws of the state in which you work. The organization in which you work should have a copy of an advance directive that is given to patients. Complete the advance directive for yourself.  Do not turn in your AD with your paper. The AD is for your personal use.

In your paper, Part I:

1. Identify where you obtained the AD and explain its compliance with state law.
2. Conduct research (1-2 sources) to learn more about the AD in your state and explain how it works.   
3. Discuss how easy or difficult it was to complete the AD. Your comments should be specific and both objective and subjective. For example, when you state your personal feelings, you must relate them to the literature (textbook and research) that discusses this process and the difficulties that many people face when completing an advance directive.
