Week 6: Collaboration Cafe: Closing the Project (graded)

33 unread replies.33 replies.

The term closing for projects is a misnomer. Many times, the PM and/or the team were the champions of the change and you drove the passion and motivation. Far too many amazing projects revert back to the prior status quo not long after the PM team has moved onto their next project. Just because you and your team have done a great job in planning and executing the project and it was running well when you left, doesn’t mean that you can just assume it will continue successfully. How do we sustain the practice change that we sought to make? When you’re gone and onto your next project, what will happen to the one you just closed? What strategies have you put in place to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of your project? When you check back in after a year, what will it look like?

EXPERIMENTAL LEARNING PAPER

After completing, write a one page paper (typed, single spaced, 12 font, and 1 inch margin) on who, where, when, and how this made you feel. Minimum of 500 words .

Psychotherapy With group

Select two clients you observed or counseled this week during a family therapy session. Note: The two clients you select must have attended the same family session. Do not select the same family you selected for Week 2.

Then, address in your Practicum Journal the following:

  • Using the Group Therapy Progress Note in this week’s Learning Resources, document the family session.
  • Describe each client (without violating HIPAA regulations) and identify any pertinent history or medical information, including prescribed medications.
  • Using the DSM-5, explain and justify your diagnosis for each client.
  • Explain whether solution-focused or cognitive behavioral therapy would be more effective with this family. Include expected outcomes based on these therapeutic approaches.
  • Explain any legal and/or ethical implications related to counseling each client.
  • Support your approach with evidence-based literature.

Early onset Schizophrenia

Assignment: Early Onset Schizophrenia

Children and adolescents with schizophrenia have more difficulty functioning in academic or work settings, and significant impairment usually persists into adulthood. They may have speech or language disorders and in some cases borderline intellectual functioning. These individuals are more likely to complete suicide attempts or die from other accidental causes. Schizophrenia is characterized by positive and negative symptoms. Positive symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, and behavior disturbance. Negative symptoms include blunted affect and attention, apathy, and lack of motivation and social interest.

In this Assignment, you compare treatment plans for adults diagnosed with schizophrenia with treatment plans for children and adolescents diagnosed with schizophrenia. You also consider the legal and ethical issues involved in medicating children diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Compare      evidence-based treatment plans for adults versus children and adolescents      diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • Analyze legal      and ethical issues surrounding the forceful administration of medication      to children diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • Analyze the role      of the PMHNP in addressing issues related to the forceful administration      of medication to children diagnosed with schizophrenia

To Prepare for this Assignment:

  • Review the      Learning Resources concerning early-onset schizophrenia.

The Assignment (2 pages):

  • Compare at least      two evidence-based treatment plans for adults diagnosed with schizophrenia      with evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents diagnosed      with schizophrenia.
  • Explain the      legal and ethical issues involved with forcing children diagnosed with      schizophrenia to take medication for the disorder and how a PMHNP may      address those issues.

Note: The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references.

  • Prepare a spreadsheet of cost savings data showing efficiency gains attributable to care coordination over the course of one fiscal year, and report your key findings in an executive summary, 4–5 pages in length.
Information plays a fundamental role in health care. Providers such as physicians and hospitals create and process information as they deliver care to patients. However, managing that information and using it productively poses an ongoing challenge, particularly in light of the complexity of the U.S. health care sector, with its many diverse settings for care and types of providers and services. Health information technology (HIT) has the potential to considerably increase the productivity of the health sector by assisting providers in managing information. Furthermore, HIT can improve the quality of health care and, ultimately, the outcomes of that care for patients.

        Preparation
As the senior care coordinator in your organization, your manager has asked you to examine and report on how care coordination can generate cost savings, improve outcomes, enhance the collection of evidence-based data, and improve health care quality for the community. She would like you to compile cost savings data in a well-organized spreadsheet and present your key findings in an executive summary.
Note: Remember that you can submit all or a portion of your draft spreadsheet and executive summary to Smarthinking for feedback before you submit the final version of this assessment. If you plan on using this free service, be mindful of the turnaround time of 24–48 hours for receiving feedback.
    Requirements
Determine how care coordination can reduce costs. Compile your cost savings data in a spreadsheet, using Microsoft Excel or a suitable application of your choice. (If you elect to use an application other than Excel, check with faculty to avoid potential file compatibility issues.) Your spreadsheet should contain at least four cost-saving elements. Identify the cost-saving element, current costs, and anticipated savings.
Then create an executive summary using the APA Style Paper Template [DOCX]. Discuss your cost-saving elements and report key findings from your analysis.
    Analyzing Cost Savings
The requirements outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Be sure that your analysis addresses each point, at a minimum. You may also want to read the Cost Savings Analysis Scoring Guide to better understand how each criterion will be assessed.

    • Describe ways in which care coordination can generate cost savings.
      • What are your primary evidence-based sources of information?
      • Are your conclusions substantiated by the data?
      • What assumptions, if any, underlie your analysis?
    • Explain how care coordination can promote improved health consumerism and effect positive health outcomes.
      • What evidence do you have to substantiate your claims?
    • Describe at least five ways in which care coordination efforts can enhance the collection of evidence-based data and improve quality through the application of an emerging health care model.
      • Choose any emerging health care model.
    • Present cost savings data and information clearly and accurately.
    • Support main points, claims, and conclusions with relevant and credible evidence, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.
    • Additional Requirements
      Executive Summary Format and Length
Format your executive summary using APA style:

    • Use the APA Style Paper Template [DOCX] provided. Be sure to include:
      • A title page and references page. An abstract is not required.
      • A running head on all pages.
      • Appropriate section headings.
    • See also the APA Style Paper Tutorial [DOCX] to help you in writing and formatting your executive summary.
    • Your summary should be 4–5 pages in length, not including the title page and references page.
    • Supporting Evidence

    • Cite 4–5 sources of relevant and credible scholarly or professional evidence to support your cost savings analysis.
    • Apply APA formatting to all in-text citations and references.
    • Submit both your spreadsheet and your executive summary.
Portfolio Prompt: You may choose to save your spreadsheet and executive summary to your ePortfolio.

Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?

Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?

March 21, 2010, was not EBP’s date of birth, but it may be the date the approach “grew up” and left home to take on the world.

When the Affordable Care Act was passed, it came with a requirement of empirical evidence. Research on EBP increased significantly. Application of EBP spread to allied health professions, education, healthcare technology, and more. Health organizations began to adopt and promote EBP.

In this Discussion, you will consider this adoption. You will examine healthcare organization websites and analyze to what extent these organizations use EBP.

To Prepare:

  1. Review the Resources and reflect on the definition and goal of EBP.
  2. Choose a professional healthcare organization’s website (e.g., a reimbursing body, an accredited body, or a national initiative).
  3. Explore the website to determine where and to what extent EBP is evident.

By Day 3 of Week 1

Post a description of the healthcare organization website you reviewed. Describe where, if at all, EBP appears (e.g., the mission, vision, philosophy, and/or goals of the healthcare organization, or in other locations on the website). Then, explain whether this healthcare organization’s work is grounded in EBP and why or why not. Finally, explain whether the information you discovered on the healthcare organization’s website has changed your perception of the healthcare organization. Be specific and provide examples.

Week 4 assignment

you will be looking for articles that look at the cultural and ethical perspective of your topic as a public health issue. Your articles should discuss why your disparity exists (culture) and reasons it needs to be addressed (ethics). The papers you use in this assignment must also be scholarly peer reviewed articles. If you did not watch the videos for the scientific perspective search and evaluation assignment or need to review the information, they are still in week two announcements. There are some good tips on how to find your articles quickly and correctly format them for the reference page

Assignment: Regulation for Nursing Practice Staff Development Meeting,NURS 6050 Policy and Advocacy for Improving Population Health

Nursing is a very highly regulated profession. There are over 100 boards of nursing and national nursing associations throughout the United States and its territories. Their existence helps regulate, inform, and promote the nursing profession. With such numbers, it can be difficult to distinguish between BONs and nursing associations, and overwhelming to consider various benefits and options offered by each.

Both boards of nursing and national nursing associations have significant impacts on the nurse practitioner profession and scope of practice. Understanding these differences helps lend credence to your expertise as a professional. In this Assignment, you will practice the application of such expertise by communicating a comparison of boards of nursing and professional nurse associations. You will also share an analysis of your state board of nursing.

To Prepare:

  • Assume that you are leading a staff development meeting on regulation for nursing practice at your healthcare organization or agency.
  • Review the NCSBN and ANA websites to prepare for your presentation.

The Assignment: (8- to 9-slide PowerPoint presentation)

Develop a 8- to 9-slide PowerPoint Presentation that addresses the following:

  • Describe the differences between a board of nursing and a professional nurse association.
  • Describe the board for your specific region/area.
    • Who is on the board?
    • How does one become a member of the board?
  • Describe at least one state regulation related to general nurse scope of practice.
    • How does this regulation influence the nurse’s role?
    • How does this regulation influence delivery, cost, and access to healthcare?
  • Describe at least one state regulation related to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).
    • How does this regulation influence the nurse’s role?
    • How does this regulation influence delivery, cost, and access to healthcare?
  • Include Speaker Notes on Each Slide (except on the title page and reference page)

By Day 7 of Week 6

Submit your Regulation for Nursing Practice Staff Development Meeting Presentation.
