Professional Nursing

This is a professional nursing case study, please read and follow the rubric when responding to the questions. Don’t have restriction on number of words or required page #, just a case study not term paper. Thanks for helping.

answer:

During my previous clinicals, I have noticed providers complaining about different coding and billing issues. The most common complaint was not having enough data. If the provider fails to provide enough information, like not linking the diagnosis to the right CPT code then the payer may deny the transaction or create a delay. Another common issue includes having to uncode if the patient is billed for the wrong services. Many other errors like telemedicine coding errors, missing or incorrect information and incorrect procedure codes. Although there are many possible errors, there is also multiple ways to avoid them. It is the providers job to prevent those errors (Grant-Kels, Kim, & Graff, 2016).

A National Provider Identifier is a unique 10-digit number given to healthcare providers by Medicare and Medicaid services. This NPI number was brough around 1996 under HIPAA. It was then in 2006 when it became mostly used. This allows the provider to identify themselves in transactions or medical correspondence. The provider will carry this unique code throughout their career to any practice that they join (Adams, Norman, & Burroughs, 2020). This is not a confidential number since anyone can look up an NPI number in the registry. Finally, in order to obtain one, the provider must apply under the NPPES website.

medication administration error at your workplace setting and identify strategies to prevent future recurrence through interprofessional collaborative practice

As a practice scholar, you are called to respond to a recurring medication administration error at your workplace setting and identify strategies to prevent future recurrence through interprofessional collaborative practice. Your first step is to assemble the interprofessional team. Consider the following.

Regulation for Nursing Practice Staff Development Meeting

Nursing is a very highly regulated profession. There are over 100 boards of nursing and national nursing associations throughout the United States and its territories. Their existence helps regulate, inform, and promote the nursing profession. With such numbers, it can be difficult to distinguish between BONs and nursing associations, and overwhelming to consider various benefits and options offered by each.

Both boards of nursing and national nursing associations have significant impacts on the nurse practitioner profession and scope of practice. Understanding these differences helps lend credence to your expertise as a professional. In this Assignment, you will practice the application of such expertise by communicating a comparison of boards of nursing and professional nurse associations. You will also share an analysis of your state board of nursing.

To Prepare:

· Assume that you are leading a staff development meeting on regulation for nursing practice at your healthcare organization or agency.

· Review the NCSBN and ANA websites to prepare for your presentation.

The Assignment: (10 slide PowerPoint presentation)

Develop a  10-slide PowerPoint Presentation that addresses the following:

· Describe the differences between a board of nursing and a professional nurse association.

· Describe the board for your specific region/area.

o Who is on the board?

o How does one become a member of the board?

· Describe at least one state regulation related to general nurse scope of practice.

o How does this regulation influence the nurse’s role?

o How does this regulation influence delivery, cost, and access to healthcare?

· Describe at least one state regulation related to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

o How does this regulation influence the nurse’s role?

o How does this regulation influence delivery, cost, and access to healthcare?

· Include Speaker Notes on Each Slide (except on the title page and reference page)

Topic 1 DQ 2

The Institute of Medicine has stated a goal that 90% of practice be evidence-based by 2020.  According to HealthyPeople.gov, the United States is currently at approximately 15%. Discuss two barriers that might hold nursing practice from achieving this goal and suggest ways in which identified barriers may be addressed.

Discussion Week 9

Discussion: The Globalization of Health

Cell phones, video cameras, and other technologies are changing the way we live today. It is difficult to avoid the stories and images of poverty, human rights abuses, disasters, diseases, and other tragedies that plague people in rich and poor countries alike.

It is not just communications technology that is making the world a “smaller” place. Globalization is also exerting a powerful effect on the conditions in which people live and work, (i.e., the social determinants of health) and, thus, on health itself.

To prepare for this Discussion, review your Learning Resources. Search online for current stories/events related to population health.

Post a brief summary on the effects of globalization on health in Russia. Discuss one change in quality of life in post-transition Russia. Also, explain one change in mortality in post-transition Russia. Provide examples for both. Expand on your insights utilizing the Learning Resources.

Use APA formatting for your Discussion and to cite your resources.

Ethical values and principles as defined by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Reflect upon your selected practice problem and the eventual research-based intervention you select for your practice change project and address the following.

Translation of a research-based intervention to practice involves a critical review of numerous published research studies to discern if individuals – research subjects – were treated according to the ethical values and principles as defined by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Reflect upon your selected practice problem and the eventual research-based intervention you select for your practice change project and address the following.

  • What are the potential benefits and harms related to your selected practice problem when considering a research-based intervention for your practice change project?
  • Are there competing personal or professional values related to this research-based intervention that might impact the implementation of this intervention in your practice setting?
  • What types of objections might be raised? How will you explain your decision to key stakeholders to address these objections?
