Refining the Theoretical Foundation for Research

1-Your concept is motivation and you were looking at the Expectancy Theory of Motivation by Victor Vroom.

2-Are you using his definition of motivation for your definition in this concept analysis paper?

3-His theory is about decision-making.  Whose decision-making are you interested in exploring in your future research?

4-His theory is also targeting goals.  Whose goals are you interested in studying?

5-I want to make sure that the theory you may apply aligns with your POI.

Article Analysis, please add references and follow the template that I uploaded by 10/21/2020 at 4: 00 pm

Search the GCU Library and find two new health care articles that use quantitative research. Do not use articles from a previous assignment, or articles that appear in the Topic Materials or textbook.

Complete an article analysis for each using the “Article Analysis: Part 2” template.

Refer to the “Patient Preference and Satisfaction in Hospital-at-Home and Usual Hospital Care for COPD Exacerbations: Results of a Randomised Controlled Trial,” in conjunction with the “Article Analysis Example 2,” for an example of an article analysis.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance

Annotated Bibliography for American Nurses Association (ANA) Functional Areas

Note: You must review the Module Assignment in Week 9 for your initial post in this Discussion. You will develop interview questions for that Assignment, and this Discussion requires you to reflect on how you might apply your learning from this week to those questions.

  • Research and find one peer-reviewed article related to an ANA functional area that you would like to further develop as a nurse informaticist.
  • The Library recommends the following:
    •  Navigate to the Nursing Research databases
    •  Select a database with which to start. You can try more than one.
    •  Perform a basic search with one of the functional areas that are listed in the text. You don’t necessarily need to use the exact wording of the functional areas. For example, “Development of Systems, Products, and Resources” might be expressed as “systems development.” Look at your initial results to see if the wording fits your topic.
    • Add a second concept in Box 2 to focus your search. It helps to keep concepts separate, especially when multiple boxes are provided. Try: informatics.
    • Refine your results depending on what you find. Don’t be afraid to try alternate words or combinations of words to get a sizeable hit list, then you can apply limits.
    • To apply limits, scroll down in the left column to limit by date (last 5 years) and limit the results to peer-reviewed scholarly journals only. It helps to do this after you know you have performed a successful search and identified possible synonyms and sub-topics.
  • Use the Annotated Biobibliography template in the Resources to write an annotated bibliography entry, focusing on how the chosen article applies to developing your functional area as a nurse informaticist.
By Day 3 of Week 8

Post your annotated bibliography entry directly in the Discussion thread (i.e., do not upload the Annotated Bibliography template). Your article analysis should focus on how the chosen article applies to further developing your functional area as a nurse informaticist. Then, explain how learning from the article might influence your questions for your Module Assignment interview. Be specific.

PowerPoint Presentation Due

  • Incorporate professional values, attitudes, and expectations regarding ageism when caring for the older adult.
  • Outline the importance of advocating for older adults in management of their care.

Your supervisor provided some valuable feedback in response to your outline! They are excited to see the PowerPoint slideshow you are creating for your topic’s in-service training. Having developed a number of presentations for in-services, your supervisor offered the following advice:

“When developing a slideshow, it’s important to be mindful of how you layout your content. For an in-service presentation, the slides should present key points, be arranged logically, without extraneous information contributing to a cluttered look. The audience should get a lot of the content from listening to what you say, not just from reading the slides. Using the Speaker Notes feature in PowerPoint is a great way to include relevant details that you want to provide without overloading the slides.”

Your supervisor wants you to work from your outline and prepare a visually appealing PowerPoint slideshow for the in-service presentation. They said it should:

  1. Have a title slide.
  2. Contain 6-10 content slides pertaining to the important content areas for your presentation topic.
  3. Use the Speaker Notes feature in PowerPoint to reduce the amount of text that appears on the slides. (The Speaker Notes will contain the text that will guide what you say while presenting the slides.)
  4. Be written using proper spelling/grammar.
  5. Cite at least 2 credible references and present the sources in APA format on a References slide.

nutrition

Nutrition plays a vital role in a person’s overall health and well-being. Not getting enough of the recommended nutrients over the long-term can lead to malnutrition which often results in disease and illness.

In a 3-page paper, written in APA format using proper spelling/grammar, address the following:

  1. Define malnutrition and identify a specific disease that can result from it.
