Assignment: Change Implementation and Management Plan

It is one of the most cliché of clichés, but it nevertheless rings true: The only constant is change. As a nursing professional, you are no doubt aware that success in the healthcare field requires the ability to adapt to change, as the pace of change in healthcare may be without rival.

As a professional, you will be called upon to share expertise, inform, educate, and advocate. Your efforts in these areas can help lead others through change. In this Assignment, you will propose a change within your organization and present a comprehensive plan to implement the change you propose.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and identify one change that you believe is called for in your organization/workplace.
    • This may be a change necessary to effectively address one or more of the issues you addressed in the Workplace Environment Assessment you submitted in Module 4. It may also be a change in response to something not addressed in your previous efforts. It may be beneficial to discuss your ideas with your organizational leadership and/or colleagues to help identify and vet these ideas.
  • Reflect on how you might implement this change and how you might communicate this change to organizational leadership.

The Assignment (5-6-minute narrated PowerPoint presentation):

Change Implementation and Management Plan

Create a narrated PowerPoint presentation of 5 or 6 slides with video that presents a comprehensive plan to implement the change you propose.

Your narrated presentation should be 5–6 minutes in length.

Your Change Implementation and Management Plan should include the following:

  • An executive summary of the issues that are currently affecting your organization/workplace (This can include the work you completed in your Workplace Environment Assessment previously submitted, if relevant.)
  • A description of the change being proposed
  • Justifications for the change, including why addressing it will have a positive impact on your organization/workplace
  • Details about the type and scope of the proposed change
  • Identification of the stakeholders impacted by the change
  • Identification of a change management team (by title/role)
  • A plan for communicating the change you propose
  • A description of risk mitigation plans you would recommend to address the risks anticipated by the change you propose

‘THIS JOB IS A REPLY TO THE BELOW INFORMATION DONE BY STUDENT -(discussion)

The proposed health policy chosen is titled Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act” or simply the HEROES Act. The policy was introduced in the house on 05/12/2020 with the main objective of responding to the Covid-19 disease outbreak by factoring in its impacts on the economy, public health, local and state governments, Americans as well as various businesses. The bill also has other provisions and these include providing emergency supplemental materials to the federal agencies during the FY 2020. What’s more, the bill also ensures that the state, local and territorial governments have the assistance required to fight emergencies such as the global pandemic (Congress.gov, 2020). In addition, the HEROES Act expands paid sick days, as well as ensuring that the family and medical leaves are long enough and addresses the issues of unemployment, nutrition and other health concerns. With regard to fighting the global pandemic, the bill pushes for funding and ensuring that the Covid-19 requirements including testing and contact tracing are properly done, as well as the elimination of cost sharing specifically for Covid-19 treatments (Congress.gov, 2020). Most significantly, the bill also proposes that all employers should develop and engage in the implementation of infectious disease exposure control plans as well as ensuring that employees are well trained and can easily access the PPEs with reference to the global pandemic.

The Corona Virus pandemic has caused several losses of lives in addition to numerous hospitalizations in the US. Being a highly infectious disease, it is of utmost significance to understand the prevalence of the disease and for the highly susceptible populations, necessary measures should be undertaken to reduce the spread. One of the measures proposed by WHO include containment measures, contact tracing, keeping distance and washing hands among others. Since WHO has proved that these measures may help in the prevention of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, it is evident that the HEROES bill, if passed, may help in reducing the number of Covid-19 cases, especially by ensuring that the WHO guidelines on containing the pandemic are adhered to, as well as ensuring that employers comply to the containment measures as well as ensuring that their employers are safe. Moreover, another significant component of the bill is that it addresses the impacts of Covid-19 on the US economy, together with ensuring that the disease does not affect individuals, as well as their businesses. All these support the benefits of this bill and how it will aid in opening the economy, honoring heroes as well as sending money to the Americans as asserted by the National Law Review (2020).

Interprofessional Collaboration

Planning for our patients during times of transitions (for example: hospital to home, home to rehabilitation facility) involves collaboration with a number of healthcare professionals. Please address the following questions:

  • How does your facility promote interprofessional collaboration during times of patient transitions?
  • What is the role of the nurse in patient transitions?
  • What gaps can you identify in this process related to quality of care? (If you are not currently in practice, please use a previous role or clinical experience in your answers.)

Module 5 SBAR

The course project in Module 05 is a further examination of a technique that is commonly used for improving communication among team members and patients and develop solutions to solve problems to improve organizational function and patient experience.  It is called SBAR and stands for Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation.

Read through the scenario below and you are required to provide a minimum of 3-5 sentences of each section of SBAR and should be free of spelling and grammatical errors. References are not required but if used, must be cited in proper APA citation format.

Scenario

As a medical administrative assistant working at a healthcare clinic you have noticed in the last month there is an increasing number of patients checking out after their visit unsure of when they should schedule their next visit.  This causes you to have to track down a healthcare member from that patient’s healthcare team to determine when the patient needs to reschedule their next appointment.  This process takes time, added effort and a delay in assisting other patients along with decreasing the patient’s overall experience.

Utilizing the SBAR technique, discuss how communication can be improved between the front desk and healthcare team members along with how this issue can be resolved.

You are required to provide a minimum of 3-5 sentences for each section of SBAR and your submission should be free of spelling and grammatical errors. References are not required but if used, must be cited in proper APA citation format.  Please download the following assignment template to complete your SBAR assessment:

Module3 discussion

PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FOR HOW MANY WORDS AND GUIDELINES OF THIS ASSIGNMENT!!!!!!!

Most healthcare treatment options are voluntary, meaning that a patient has the right to refuse care, even if it is in their best interest to comply. However, in some cases, psychiatric treatment can be mandatory. Involuntary treatment (which is also referred to as “assisted treatment”) is typically implemented when patients have been diagnosed with a severe mental disorder and pose a danger to themselves or others. Although the stipulations vary by state, all fifty states allow for some form of involuntary treatment for mental illness. Be sure to support your answers to the following questions with research.

  • Is involuntary care ethical?
  • Do patients with severe mental illness have the mental capacity to refuse or consent to treatment?
  • Should patients be forced to take medications, be hospitalized, or undergo therapy against their will? If so, what should be the consequence for refusal?
  • Are there better ways to encourage patients to adhere to their treatment plan?
