 This week’s discussion centers around the concept of Blockchain.  There is still much confusion regarding what Blockchain is and what it is not.  Please discuss your explanation of Blockchain to include why it has been gaining so much popularity. The post should be 300 words at least.

We are producing two types of products, product A and product B. Product A is defective if the weight is greater than 10 lbs. Product B is defective if the weight is greater than 15 lbs. For a given product, we know its product_type and its weight. Design a program to screen out defective products. Starting the program with variable definition:

product_type = ‘xxx’

weight = xxx

Hint: You need to figure out the product type first, and then check if the product is defective based on the weight. You may use a nested if statement like the following:

if product is A:

if product weight > 10:

the product is defective

else:

if product weight >15:

the product is defective

But you need to translate the English into Python codes. 

As a challenge, you may also try a one-step if statement. such as :

if some condition is met:

the product is defective

else:

the product is normal

And the key is the bolded “some condition”.

1. For this discussion topic, you will need to research methods of dealing with add in hardware devices and how they work with virtualization.  Add in hardware would be items outside of the standard server configuration and might include things like USB license keys, barcode scanners, specialty video cards etc.  As part of the discussion you will want to identify the type of hardware you found and some recommended solutions for making it work with a virtual server. 

2. For this assignment, you need to investigate what options the hypervisor you recommended in your type 1 hypervisor compare assignment have to provide highly available services.  How do these items tie into what you read about in the chapter and which ones would you recommend implementing?  While you investigate the process of making your virtual machines highly available, what else did you run across that could have an impact on the availability of your machines and services that is outside of the control of your hypervisor?  Write up a summary of the features of the hypervisor you choose, a brief section on the non-hypervisor factors and your recommendations for which features are most important to implement to ensure the best availability of your virtual machines. (which i used Oracle VM)

Discussion Board – Forecasting New Products and Services

Forecasting provides very useful projections for established products and services, but newly introduced products and services have wildly different success results. Name and discuss at least one product and one service that exploded with exponential increase in demand shortly after their introduction. What about products and services (2) that have largely been ignored?

The bonds between siblings are among the strongest. May-Lee Chai describes the relationship between two sisters in her short story, “Saving Sourdi.” 

After reading “Saving Sourdi,” discuss the following questions in 3–5 paragraphs:

1. The story begins with a strong revealing statement from Nea, the narrator. How do you think Nea feels about her sister Sourdi based on this information? How does what happens at the beginning of the story foreshadow what happens later?
2. This story is told from Nea’s point of view. How do you think the story would change if it were told from Sourdi’s point of view? Do you feel closer to the character than you would if this story were told in third person?
3. Nea briefly mentions an experience she and Sourdi had in a minefield when they were younger. What impact do you think this had on the relationship between the sisters?
4. Nea’s family is not originally from the United States. What are some clues the author gives to describe the origin of their ethnicity? Give 2 examples of characters who say things that are racially offensive, and discuss how this makes you feel about those characters. Can you relate to these experiences?
5. How does the author describe Duke and Mr. Chhay? Do you get a sense of who these characters are based on these descriptions?
6. As the story progresses, how does the relationship between Nea and Sourdi change? Why do you think it changes?
7. What does the mother value, based on how reaction to updates she receives from Sourdi? Why do you think she might feel this way?
