TCP/IP Protocol Suite and the OSI Model

When you use your home network  (or any network for that matter), there are many TCP/IP services that  you use on a daily basis such as email and browsing the Web. In your  week one reading, you were introduced to the TCP/IP protocol suite (this  is also called the TCP/IP model) and the OSI model. They may look very  different. For starters, the number of layers and some of the names  differ between the two, but they both are used to represent how a  network functions. This week we are taking a “deep dive” into both  TCP/IP protocol suite and the OSI model, focusing on the different  layers and their functionality.

Learning about the TCP/IP  protocol suite and the OSI model will help you build a great networking  foundation- they are not only used to help teach how a network functions  but are also used today in the field to help aid in network  troubleshooting.

  • In your own words, what occurs at each layer?
  • What kind of equipment is used at each level? (You may use the textbook and additional resources to help you answer).
  • Compare and contrast the TCP/IP protocol suite and the OSI model.
    • How are they similar? How are they different?

Then you will divide the page into 3 panels to displayed in an accordion format where the user can open and close the individual panels by clicking on the associated title.Second, you will modify the roses.html page (attached with images to this lab), to include 2 dialog boxes: 1 to display when the page loads and another when the user clicks on the Zone span tag on the page. Then you will organize the page into 3 tabbed panels which will display one at a time. The user can select the panel to be displayed by clicking on the associated tab.Requirements:Download the jQuery ui files using a theme of your choice and add to mums.html and roses.html.
use the mums.html folder from lab 9 to add tooltips and accordion panels.
Tooltips
Add titles to each of the images in the gallery section of the page.
Add the tooltips function to any element on the page with a tooltip
Add a custom class and change the styling as you see fit.
Add a span tag around the word Zone in the Plant Details table. Give it an id and a title.
Add the tooltips method to the Zone id tag, but add a link to the hardiness.jpg image as the content for the tooltip. (image is included in the download files for this assignment.
Accordion
Modify the div tag that is just above the h2 element for Plant Overview to include an id
Apply the accordion method to the id.
Add 2 customizations of your choice (css or options)
For the roses.html file attached to this assignment, add dialog boxes and tabs
Dialog
Call the dialog method for the #sale div at the bottom of the page to display the dialog when the page loads
Call the dialog method for the #zone div at the bottom of the page but prevent it from displaying when the page first loads
Add a click event to the #zonePopup span tag (Zone in the Plant Details panel) to open the #zone dialog.
Tabs
Add the tabs method to the #tabs div that includes the ul for the tabs.
Add 2 customizations of your choice (css or options)

Body of Knowledge Graphic Model

After completing your program of study (IT), you will ideally possess a body of knowledge that will allow you to contribute to society professionally and personally. Professionals need substantial knowledge and the ability to showcase their accolades and experience. Create a graphic model in which you demonstrate your research of professional opportunities, taking into consideration the discrepancies between your current qualifications and what you would need to become a more complete professional, and what actions you will take to reach professional and personal goals. You will highlight your expertise and the knowledge base that is imperative to obtaining the professional position you desire. Choose an appropriate graphic model for the assignment, and include the following:

  1. Name three companies and the positions you would like to obtain.

  1. Describe the core values, mission statements, and codes of conduct of the three companies you have chosen.

  1. What skills, qualifications, and experiences are necessary to obtain the posted positions you desire?

  1. In addition to your existing degree, consider internships, additional certifications, or other qualifications you may need in order to be an accomplished professional.

  1. Gather your body of knowledge and create a strategic roadmap that includes your current qualifications, addresses any deficiencies you have identified, and demonstrates a plan for how you will address those deficiencies ( Current qualification = Associate in Computer Engineering).

Discussion 3- Legal

Assigned Readings:Chapter 3. The Judicial System.Chapter 4. Managing Disputes: Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation Strategies.Initial Postings: Read and reflect on the assigned readings for the week. Then post what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding in each assigned textbook chapter.Your initial post should be based upon the assigned reading for the week, so the textbook should be a source listed in your reference section and cited within the body of the text. Other sources are not required but feel free to use them if they aid in your discussion. Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questions:

  1. Explain the pros and cons of utilizing litigation to resolve a dispute as opposed to alternatives to dispute resolution.
  2. Peter Plaintiff is citizen of Kentucky.   He drives to Tennessee and purchases a lawn mover from Lousy Lawn Mowers, Inc.  Peter Plaintiff returns to Kentucky and is seriously injured when the lawnmower explodes during normal use.  Lousy Lawn Mowers, Inc. does not do business in Kentucky and is incorporated in Delaware.  May Peter Plaintiff bring a lawsuit against Lousy Lawn Mowers, Inc. in a state or federal court, and why?
[Your post must be substantive and demonstrate insight gained from the course material. Postings must be in the student’s own words – do not provide quotes!]

Develop a Java application that plays

Develop a Java application that plays a “guess the number” game as described below.
a) Your application first gets a random number in the range 1-1000 inclusive (you might want to use Math.random() or the Random class).
b) The application then displays the following prompt (probably via a JLabel):
I have a number between 1 and 1000. Can you guess my number?
Please enter your first guess.
Post a textbox for the user to enter a number and post a message telling the user to hit ‘Enter’ after entering a guess in a textbox (probably using a JTextField).
c) Input the user’s guess in the code for a previously-registered event-handler method (consider using the event-handling approach discussed in the text, or the actionPerformed() method of class based on the ActionListener interface, which will require some additional research outside the text).
d) For the first guess, color the entire background red, meaning that they are getting warmer (you might want to use the setBackground() method for a container). If this is the second or later guess, and they are further from the correct number than the last guess, then color the entire background blue. If they get the correct number then color the background some other color than red or blue.
e) If the user guessed the number correctly, respond with their number, post a congratulatory message, get a new random number, and display a JButton to start a new game. Otherwise, to help the user close in on the correct number, post a message, with their guessed number, whether they are “TOO HIGH” or “TOO LOW” from the correct number, and whether they are “WARMER” or “COLDER” (this should match the background color). Also report the guess number of the next guess (e.g. “Enter guess number nnn”). You might want to use a concatenated string in JLabel for these incorrect guess messages.
f) The process is repeated each game until the user guesses the correct number. Be sure that you erase obsolete status messages.
