Building Secure Web Apps
Breakout Activity #32 – The Dark Web

The Impact Of The Dark Web On Internet Governance And Cyber Security – The surface Web, which people use routinely, consists of data that search engines can find and then offer up in response to queries. This is only the tip of the iceberg — a traditional search engine sees about 0.03 percent of the information that is available (Bergman 2001). Much of the rest is submerged in what is called the deep Web. Also known as the “Undernet,” “invisible Web” and the “hidden Web,” it consists of data that cannot be located with a simple Google search.

Cost Estimation

Mini-Case Study: Cost Estimation at Global Green Books Publishing Global Green Books Publishing is continuing to produce customized eBooks as a key new product line for it as a successful printing and publishing company. It has developed a template to help plan job orders. The major customer for these customized eBooks is a local college, who expected these books to be delivered at a low cost, and the company has not always been doing that. The Accounting department in Global Green Books was having difficult tracking the costs for each of the books. Each eBook had a separate job order prepared that listed all the steps that needed to be completed, so that tasks could be assigned to each worker and costs estimated. With the existing job orders, estimates of time required for each task were sometimes not completed until after the work was done, causing problems as workers were supposed to move on to new tasks but were still finishing their previous tasks. Some tasks required specialized equipment or skills, sometimes from other groups within Global Green Books. Along with its template for job orders, Global Green Books wanted to start developing a project estimate for each new eBook project. This cost estimate should capture direct costs and indirect costs. The direct costs for an eBook project include labor costs for those in the company working on the project, materials costs (if any), subcontractor or outside labor, and

Wk 4 – Apply: Risk Register

Assignment Content

  1. Tony and his project team identified some risks during the first month of the Recreation and Wellness Intranet Project. However, all they did was document the risks in a list. They never ranked the risks or developed any response strategies. Because the project has had several problems, such as key team members leaving the company, users being uncooperative, and team members not providing good status information, Tony decided to be more proactive in managing risks and want to address positive risks as well as negative risks.

    Complete the following tasks:

    1. Create a risk register for the project. Identify SIX potential risks, including risks related to the problems described in the previous paragraph. Include negative and positive risks.
    2. Develop a response strategy for each risk of at least 45 words each. Enter the information in the risk register. The more substantial and well-argued your response strategy, the better. Minimal effort = Minimal grade.
    3. Separately from the Risk Register, write at least 175 words describing what specific tasks would be required to implement the strategy. Include time and cost estimates for each strategy.
    4. Submit your risk register with the response strategy and explanation.

Note: A Risk Register template is available. I recommend that you use it.
