Exp19_Access_Ch4_Cap – Farm Conference 1.0

Note : Just Imports the Table, Form, Reports and Queries from this Data in your Access File  Or If You can not do this Send me message

You are helping a small non-profit group organize their national farm and agriculture conference. You will create a form to organize input, a report to display the finalized schedule, and mailing labels.

  Access Chapter 4  Farm Conference

Start Access. Open the downloaded   Access file named Exp19_Access_Ch4_Cap_Farm.accdb. Grader has automatically added your last name to the   beginning of the filename. Save the file to the location where you are   storing your files.

Create   a form using the Form tool based on the Presenters table. Change the title in   the Form Header to Enter/Edit Presenters.

Reduce   the field value control widths to approximately half their original size (to   approximately 3.6″). Delete   the subform.

Sort   the records by LastName in   ascending order. Save the form as Edit Presenters.   Close the form.

Open   the Location Information form in Layout view. Apply the Stacked Layout   control to the form. Save and close the form.

Create   a new report based on the Exhibits   with Presenters query using the Report Wizard. Select all available   fields, choose to view the data by Presenters, ensure that FirstName,   LastName is the only grouping level, use Date as the primary sort field in   ascending order, accept the default Stepped option, and change the layout to Landscape. Save the report as Presenter Schedule.

Apply   the Integral theme to this report only. Save the report.

Modify   the Presenter Schedule report so that the StartingTime field from the Exhibits table is added as the last   field (appearing to the right of LocationID). In Design view, ensure that the   left edge of the field is at the 8.5-inch mark on the ruler, and then return   to Layout view.

Change   the title of the Presenter Schedule report to Schedule by   Presenter.

Change   the sort so the StartingTime is a   secondary sort field (that is, so that the first sort is Date, and the second   sort is StartingTime). Save and close the report.

Create   a new labels report based on the Presenters table. Use the Avery USA 8660   label template. Accept the default font options, and set the labels up so the   first and last name appear on the top line, the Address on the second line,   and the City, State, and ZipCode appear on the final line. Your first label   should look like:

Shannon Beck
368 Graham Avenue
Graham, KY 42344

Do not add any sorting. Name the report Presenter Mailing   Labels.   Close the labels.

* PROJECT STEPS

1. Takara Hiyashi is on the board of the Green Lake Sports Camp, a recreational summer camp in Syracuse, New York. She is using an Excel workbook to analyze the camp’s financials and asks for your help in correcting errors and solving problems with the data.
Go to the Teams worksheet. Takara asks you to correct the errors in the worksheet. Correct the first error as follows:

a. Use the Trace Precedents arrows to find the source of the #VALUE! error in cell C8.

b. Use the Trace Dependents arrows to determine whether the formula in cell C8 causes other errors in the worksheet.

c. Correct the formula in cell C8, which should add the baseball registration fee per person (cell C4) and the equipment fee (cell C7), and then multiply the result by the minimum number of campers (cell C6).

d. Remove the trace arrows.

2. Correct the Name error in cell C22 as follows:

a. Use any error-checking method to determine the source of the error in cell C22, which should calculate the average revenue per week.

b. Correct the error by editing the formula in cell C22.

3. Correct the divide by zero errors as follows:

a. Evaluate the formula in cell C18 to determine which cell is causing the divide by zero error.

b. Correct the formula in cell C18, which should divide the revenue per session (cell C16) by the minimum number of campers (cell C6).

c. Fill the range D18:G18 with the formula in cell C18.

4. Takara suspects that the remaining divide by zero errors and the two negative values in the range E16:E18 are related to the zero value in cell E6. She wants to make sure that anyone entering the minimum number of campers enters a number greater than zero.
Add data validation to the range C6:G6 as follows:

a. Set a data validation rule for the range C6:G6 that allows only whole number values greater than 0.

b. Add an Input Message using Number of Campers as the Input Message Title and the following text as the Input message:
Enter the minimum number of campers for this session.

c. Add an Error Alert using the Stop style, Campers Error as the Error Alert Title, and the following text as the Error message:
The minimum number of campers must be greater than 0.

5. Identify the invalid data in the worksheet and correct the entry as follows:

a. Circle the invalid data in the worksheet.

b. Type 10 as the minimum number of campers for the lacrosse sessions (cell E6).

c. Verify that this change corrected the remaining divide by zero errors and resulted in positive values in the range E16:E18.

6. Go to the Private Lessons worksheet. This worksheet analyzes financial data for private and semi-private lessons, which the camp runs throughout the day. Takara has already created a scenario named Current Campers that calculates profit based on the current number of campers enrolled for each session. She also wants to calculate profit based on the maximum number of campers.
Add a new scenario to compare the profit with maximum enrollments as follows:

a. Use Max Campers as the scenario name.

b. Use the enrolled campers per day data (range C9:G9) as the changing cells.

c. Enter cell values for the Max Campers scenario as shown in bold in Table 1, which are the same values as in the range C8:G8.

* Table 1: Cell Values for the Max Campers Scenario

7. Takara also wants to calculate profit based on the minimum number of campers.
Add another new scenario to compare the profit with low session enrollment as follows:

a. Add a scenario to the worksheet using Min Campers as the scenario name.

b. Use the enrolled campers per day data (range C9:G9) as the changing cells.

c. Enter cell values for the Min Campers scenario as shown in bold in Table 2.

8. Show the Min Campers scenario values in the Private Lessons worksheet.

9. Go to the Revised Fees worksheet. Takara is considering whether to change the coaching fees for the private lessons. She has created three scenarios on the Revised Fees worksheet showing the profit with a $5 or $10 increase or a $5 decrease to the coaching fees.
Compare the average profit per session based on the scenarios as follows:

a. Create a Scenario Summary report using the average profit per session (range C11:G11) as the result cells to show how the average profit changes depending on the coaching fee changes.

b. Use Revised Fees Scenario Report as the name of the worksheet containing the report.

10. Takara also wants to focus on one or two types of private lessons at a time when comparing the average profit per session. Return to the Revised Fees worksheet and create another type of report as follows:

a. Create a Scenario PivotTable report using the average profit per session (range C11:G11) as the result cells to compare the average profit depending on the fee changes in a PivotTable.

b. Use Revised Fees PivotTable as the name of the worksheet containing the PivotTable.

c. Format cells B4:F6 in the Revised Fees PivotTable worksheet using the Accounting number format with 0 decimal places and $ as the symbol.

11. Go to the Games worksheet. Takara wants to determine the number of games the camp can hold on Fridays and Saturdays to make the highest weekly profit without interfering with practices, which are also scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays and use the same resources.
Use Solver to find this information as follows:

a. Use the total weekly profit (cell H17, named Total_Weekly_Profit) as the objective cell in the Solver model, with the goal of determining the maximum value for that cell.

b. Use the number of Friday and Saturday games for the five sports (range C5:G6) as the changing variable cells.

c. Determine and enter the constraints based on the information provided in Table 3.

d. Use Simplex LP as the solving method to find a global optimal solution.

e. Save the Solver model in cell B27.

f. Solve the model, keeping the Solver solution.

12. Takara wants to document the answer Solver found, including the constraints and a list of the values Solver changed to solve the problem. Produce an Answer report for the Solver model as follows:

a. Solve the model again, this time choosing to produce an Answer report.

b. Use Games Answer Report as the name of the worksheet containing the Answer report.

Your workbook should look like the Final Figures on the following pages. Save your changes, close the workbook, and then

QUANTITATIVE Journal Article Review

You will review both quantitative and qualitative research. The topic is up to you as long as you choose a peer-reviewed, academic research piece. I suggest choosing a topic that is at least in the same family as your expected dissertation topic so that you can start viewing what is out there. There are no hard word counts or page requirements as long as you cover the basic guidelines. You must submit original work, however, and a paper that returns as a large percentage of copy/paste to other sources will not be accepted. (Safe Assign will be used to track/monitor your submission for plagiarism. Submissions with a Safe Assign match of more than 25% will not be accepted.)Please use APA formatting and include the following information:

  • Introduction/Background: Provide context for the research article. What led the author(s) to write the piece? What key concepts were explored? Were there weaknesses in prior research that led the author to the current hypothesis or research question?
  • Methodology: Describe how the data was gathered and analyzed. What research questions or hypotheses were the researcher trying to explore? What statistical analysis was used?
  • Study Findings and Results: What were the major findings from the study? Were there any limitations?
  • Conclusions: Evaluate the article in terms of significance, research methods, readability and the implications of the results. Does the piece lead into further study? Are there different methods you would have chosen based on what you read? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the article in terms of statistical analysis and application? (This is where a large part of the rubric is covered.)

Computer Science 8-2 Application Assignment: Blogs and Defamation Assignment

There are many blogs and bloggers on the internet today. How do we know if what we are reading is true? Do bloggers have the right under the First Amendment to post whatever they would like, even if the information is not completely true? The purpose of this assignment is to analyze the contents of a blog and determine what to do in an instance in which defamation has occurred.

Prompt

As an avid user of online social media, you identify a very untrue blog written by an anonymous writer. The blog contains many horrible accusations that are unfounded and untrue. After identifying this blog, you feel violated and confused. What steps can you take to have the blog removed? What defamation charges can be filed against the creator of the blog?

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:

  1. Describe a potential blog that includes information that is not true. Please note: The blog scenario does not have to come from an actual blog on the internet. The scenario can be created by the student but must be realistic.
  2. Identify the procedure that can be taken to have the blog removed.
  3. Determine defamation charges that can be filed against the creator of the blog.

What to Submit

Your paper must be submitted as a two- to three-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and be cited in APA format if applicable.

Research Report #2: Emerging Issues Risk Analysis and Report

Scenario

The Entertainment Team (ET — part of Resort Operations at Padgett-Beale, Inc.) is excited about a new event management platform and is ready to go to contract with the vendor. This platform is a cloud-based service that provides end-to-end management for events (conferences, concerts, festivals). The head of Marketing & Media (M&M) is on board and strongly supports the use of this system. M&M believes that the data collection and analysis capabilities of the system will prove extremely valuable for its efforts. Resort Operations (RO) also believes that the technology could be leveraged to provide additional capabilities for managing participation in hotel sponsored “kids programs” and related children-only events.

For an additional fee, the event management platform’s vendor will provide customized RFID bands to be worn by attendees.

The RFID bands and RFID readers use near-field communications to identify the wearer and complete the desired transactions (e.g. record a booth visit, make a purchase, vote for a favorite activity or performer, etc.).

The RFID bands have unique identifiers embedded in the band that allow tracking of attendees (admittance, where they go within the venue, what they “like,” how long they stay in a given location, etc.).

The RFID bands can also be connected to an attendee’s credit card or debit card account and then used by the attendee to make purchases for food, beverages, and souvenirs.

For children, the RFID bands can be paired with a parent’s band, loaded with allergy information, and have a parent specified spending limit or spending preauthorization tied to the parent’s credit card account.

The head of Corporate IT has tentatively given approval for this outsourcing because it leverages cloud-computing capabilities. IT’s approval is very important to supporters of this the acquisition because of the company’s ban on “Shadow IT.” (Only Corporate IT is allowed to issue contracts for information technology related purchases, acquisitions, and outsourcing contracts.) Corporate IT also supports a cloud-based platform since this reduces the amount of infrastructure which IT must support and manage directly.

The project has come to a screeching halt, however, due to an objection by the Chief Financial Officer. The CFO has asked that the IT Governance Board investigate this project and obtain more information about the benefits and risks of using RFID bands linked to an external system which processes transactions and authorizations of mobile / cashless payments for goods and services. The CFO is concerned that the company’s PCI Compliance status may be adversely affected.

The Chief Privacy Officer has also expressed an objection about this project. The CPO is concerned about the privacy implications of tracking both movement of individuals and the tracking of their purchasing behaviors.

The IT Governance Board agreed that the concerns expressed by two of its members (the CFO and CPO) have merit. The board has requested an unbiased analysis of the proposed use cases and the security and privacy issues which could be reasonably expected to arise.

The IT Governance Board has also agreed to a request from the Chief of Staff that the management interns be allowed to participate in this analysis as their final project. Per the agreement, their involvement will be limited to providing background research into the defined use cases for cashless purchases. These use cases are:

1. Purchases for craft materials and snacks by children (under the age of 13) attending a hotel sponsored “kids club” program.

2. Purchases by Individuals attending a music festival or other event where IDs must be checked to establish proof of age (legal requirement for local alcoholic beverage consumption).

3. Purchases by attendees at trade shows (attendees are “adults”).

Your Task

Pick one of the three use cases listed above. Then, follow the directions below to complete the required research and write your final report.

Research

1. Read / Review the readings in the LEO classroom.

2. Read this introductions to RFID technologies: https://www.gettoken.com/beginners-guide-rfid-technology-events/

3. Research one or more of the Use Cases

a. Children: 8 Benefits of Using RFID Wristbands for Resorts & Attractions (see section 4: Family Freedom) https://www.idcband.com/en-us/blog-us/8-benefits-of-using-rfid-wristbands-resorts-attractions/ and https://tappit.com/rfid-wristband-safety/

b. Managing Adult Attendees at Music Festivals (includes RFID bands linked to twitter, Facebook, and credit/debit card) http://www.techradar.com/news/world-of-tech/rfid-wristbands-vs-nfc-smartphones-what-s-winning-the-contactless-battle-1167135

c. Tracking Adults at Trade Shows http://www.universalrfid.com/product/rfid-labels-provide-technology-at-trade-shows/ and https://blog.printsome.com/rfid-wristbands-good-bad/

4. Choose one of the Use Cases then find and review at least one additional resource on your own that provides information about privacy and security related laws that could limit or impose additional responsibilities upon Padgett-Beale’s collection, storage, transmission, and use of data about guests. (Note: laws may differ with respect to collecting data from or about children.) You should also investigate laws, regulations, or standards which impact the use of the RFID bands for mobile purchases.

5. Using all of your readings, identify and research at least 5 security and privacy issues which the IT Governance Board needs to consider and address as it considers the implications of your chosen use case upon the adoption or rejection of the proposed IT project (Event Management Platform & RFID bands).

6. Then, identify 5 best practices that you can recommend to Padgett-Beale’s leadership team to reduce and/or manage risks associated with the security and privacy of data associated with the event management platform.

Write

Write a five to seven (5-7) page report using your research. At a minimum, your report must include the following:

1. An introduction or overview of event management systems and the potential security and privacy concerns which could arise when implementing this technology.  This introduction should be suitable for an executive audience. Provide a brief explanation as to why three major operating units believe the company needs this capability.

2. An analysis section in which you address the following:

a. Identify and describe your chosen Use Case

b. Identify and describe five or more types of personal / private information or data that will be collected, stored, processed, and transmitted in conjunction with the use case.

d. Analyze and discuss five or more privacy and security issues related to the use case.

e. Identify and discuss 3 or more relevant laws, regulations, or standards which could impact the planned implementation of the event management system with RFID wrist bands.

3. A recommendations section in which you identify and discuss five or more best practices for security and privacy that should be implemented before the technology is put into use by the company. Include at least one recommendation in each of the following categories: people, processes, policies, and technologies.

4. A closing section (summary) in which you summarize the issues related to your chosen use case and the event management platform overall. Include a summary of your recommendations to the IT Governance Board.

5. You are expected to credit your sources using in-text citations and reference list entries. Both your citations and your reference list entries must follow a consistent citation style (APA, MLA, etc.).

CYA….discussion

Review the below video and discuss the following in your own words.

1. Some identity and access control mechanisms.

2. Centralized and decentralized access control administration.

3. What is directory management?

no less than 300 words.
