1. This project has two parts:

   Part I:

•  You must use VirtualBox you can download from https://www.virtualbox.org/ 
• Follow the instructions on how to install the VirtualBox at http://cs.westminstercollege.edu/~greg/osc10e/vm/index.html 
• Do not forget to download OSC10e.ova which is the Kernel for the linux we are using. Remember this linux has only the bare minimum and must install some good editors.
• Optionally, you can then follow these steps at this link to install a GUI on the Ubuntu.
• Part II 

  Also for those who have not linux command background you must review and test linux commands from this site on your linux VM which you have now created.

1. Describe the process that was used to choose the solution. This should include what ethical, social, and economic considerations were made in choosing your solution. • Discussion how you made your selection. (READ/READ) You could use the course material/methology from last week or use a decision matrix etc… However, you must describe how you came to pick one and the it has to be rigorous process. (READ/READ)

• Describe how your decision is support by the professional organization in your field ((presumably the on you identified in week 1)). Explain how the guidance from the organization influenced your decision ((use direct language: CompTIA’s guidelines influenced my decision by…))

Instructions

Write a fully developed paper in which you:

1. Assess how the Carlson SAN approach would be implemented in today’s environment.
2. Compare the pros and cons of consolidating data on a SAN central data facility versus the dispersed arrangement it replaces.
3. Evaluate the issues raised from the Carlson SAN mixing  equipment from a number of vendors and determine the management options  for dealing with this type of situation.
4. Justify the reduction of administration and management of storage networking through Carlson’s IP SAN.
5. Assess how cloud computing could be used by Carlson instead of a  SAN. Create a diagram using Visio or its open source alternative  software to illustrate the use of cloud computing.
