Excel is such a powerful application and we are barely touching the surface of what it can do during this class. Even so, it can still be considered challenging for a new user. What did you learn this week? What aspects do you consider the most challenging or helpful? How do you think Excel could be used in your personal or professional life? If you already use Excel, how do you use it?

you will generate a NON THREADED, SEQUENTIAL program.  This sequential program will take some input (you can grab this input from the user, or from a command line argument) that it will store in an integer.  (Therefore, there needs to be checks in place to make sure that the number being given can be stored adequately in an integer.  You do not need to use BigInteger or long for this, regular integersis fine.  This is more about design than about function).

Now that you have this number, you want to compute all the prime numbers that exist between 2 and that number (inclusive).

If a number is not prime, you will store that number and a List of its factors in a Map

If a number is prime you will store it in a List.  So, at the conclusion, we have a Map of non primes that contain factors of numbers and a list of primes.

You will time the runtime of your application so that we know how long it will take to build these two structures.  To time your application, simply generate a starting time as soon as you retrieve the number you want to use as the base of your iteration and then stop the timer when you are finished generating your structures.  Report back what the difference is. You can use System.currentTimeMillis(); to do this.

To follow along with the examples in the text before doing the assignment:

a. Use the QuickBooks Online sample company to follow along with the practice Develop Your Skills exercises in the textbook. See Module 3 for more information about the QuickBooks Online sample company. 

b. Remember that the sample company will refresh after a couple of hours of inactivity, so it is best to complete all the practice exercises in one session. You do not need to submit these practice reports. All exercises using the sample company are ungraded.

Assignment Tasks: 

1. Open the QuickBooks Online application software.

3. Follow the steps in the Apply Your Skills exercises to export each report to Excel. You will only be submitting reports from the Apply Your Skills exercises. You do NOT need to submit the reports saved from the Reinforce Your Skills exercises. 

4. In order to submit your assignment into one excel workbook, you will need to cut and paste each report into ONE excel workbook.

5. Check to ensure that the asset and expense accounts have the correct debit balances.

6. Check to ensure that revenue and liabilities account have the correct credit balances.
