Unit 6 Part 2

GEL-1.02: Demonstrate college-level communication through the composition of original materials in Standard English.

PC-2.1: Achieve goals through planning and prioritization.

Assignment Instructions:

Based on the knowledge you have achieved thus far in this course or in your degree program, compose a minimum 3-page, double-spaced expository paper describing how you are able to achieve your goals through planning and prioritization. The paper must include a title page and follow APA formatting guidelines.

Scenario 1: You Have a Plan

List the goals and objectives you had coming into the course/degree program. Did you have a priority for those goals? Were you able to create a plan for completing those goals? Discuss if you have been able to follow that plan and how it has helped with meeting your prioritized objectives.

You might consider some or all of the following:

  • Content: Where are you weak/strong? Do you place different emphasis on some content areas over others?
  • Risks of non-completion: What are the costs of non-completion (monetary and other)? What factors might prevent or hinder your expected performance in the course? Can you plan to avoid or mitigate these risks?
  • Schedule: Do you set aside periods of time to complete coursework? How detailed is your schedule?
  • Material: Is it adequate for your needs? What other sources of content would you identify to help?
  • Explicit versus implicit planning: Everyone plans, even if they do not necessarily realize it. What differences do you experience when you make the plan explicit (like in this exercise)?
  • How do you prioritize goals and time? Are you trying to get an A or just pass? Is the grade or the knowledge more valuable to you? Alternatively, are they equally important?
  • What other strategies might you explore? Being more collaborative (as in a study group)? The possibility of finding a tutor or mentor?
  • What do you do if you are struggling or falling behind? Would it pay to think of these possibilities in advance and have a plan in mind in case it happens?
  • If time gets tight, what areas could you lighten up on?
  • Achieving excellence: Are there particular areas where you would like to develop your skills or knowledge to a higher level than you have previously or currently attained?

Scenario 2: You Do Not Have a Plan:

If none of the above seem to apply to your experience with the course/degree so far, examine the final 5 weeks of this course and complete a plan using the above exercise as a guide.

Based on the knowledge you have achieved thus far in this class, compose a minimum 3-page, double-spaced paper describing how you are able to achieve your goals for this course through planning and prioritization. List the goals and objectives you had coming into the course. Reflect on whether you have a priority for those goals. Were you able to create a plan for completing those goals? Describe what you have learned and how you will use this knowledge with any other class. Lastly, discuss how you will use this knowledge in your present or future career or your personal life. Your paper needs to include a title page and follow APA formatting guidelines.

In the final page of your paper, include 2–3 paragraphs describing how this kind of planning approach relates to people working in the area of networking and computing infrastructure. Discuss the importance of the goals you have, whether they are specific or general in nature, what priority you have placed on each, and how they fit into your plan for the future.

Assignment Requirements:

  • Expository paper.
  • Standard APA formatting.
  • Includes a title page.
  • Font size of 10 or 12.
  • At least 3 full double-spaced pages in length, not counting the title page.
  • Includes a highly developed viewpoint, purpose, and exceptional content.
  • Demonstrates superior organization, and is well ordered, logical, and unified.

Written work should be free of spelling, grammar, and APA errors. Points deducted from the grade for each writing, spelling, or grammar error are at your instructor’s discretion.

Risk Assessment Tools

All posts must be a minimum of 250 words. APA reference. 100% original work. no plagiarism.

If you were tasked with assembling a ‘toolkit’ using only free or open source tools to perform network security assessment.

(1)What software applications or “tools” would you use?

(2)What platform (Operating System) would you use?

(3)How does this toolkit differ from that you would use for an application security assessment, wireless security assessment?  You can list other types of related assessments if you know if how you might adjust for the given scenario.

Research Paper-Human Computer Interaction

In the previous assignment, the annotated bibliography, you collected 5 references. Now, you are to craft an analytical research paper. Using the same themes assigned for the previous assignment.

  • GROUP 5: Mobile HCI

Prepare a  (3-4) page research paper. In the paper, you are to cover the following:

  • Cover Page
  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Key Definitions
  • Review of Literature Findings
  • Future Research Recommendations
  • Conclusion
  • Bibliography

Note: you should go BEYOND the citations you found. Try to add at least 1-2 additional sources. In the paper, you goal is to understand the topic relative to interaction design, usability, and/or user experience. Try and tighten the research scope, if possible, to a specific business domain as a laser-focused research paper generally yields the very best results.

analyzing and visualizing data midterm

Select any example of a visualization or infographic, maybe your own work or that of others. The task is to undertake a deep, detailed ‘forensic’ like assessment of the design choices made across each of the five layers of the chosen visualization’s anatomy. In each case your assessment is only concerned with one design layer at a time. For this task, take a close look at the annotation choices:

  1. Start by identifying all the annotation features deployed, listing them under the headers of either project or chart annotation
  2. How suitable are the choices and deployment of these annotation features? If they are not, what do you think they should have been?
  3. Go through the set of ‘Influencing factors’ from the latter section of the book’s chapter to help shape your assessment and to possibly inform how you might tackle this design layer differently
  4. Also, considering the range of potential annotation features, what would you do differently or additionally?

Submit a two-page document answering all of the questions above.  Be sure to show the visualization first and then thoroughly answer the above questions. Ensure that there are at least two-peer reviewed sources utilized this week to support your work.

4 Discussions – 1 page each single spaced with APA style references

1) Security Measures

Research The Phases of Access Control and its Pros and Cons

2) System Profiling

Assume you are all working as the security team in the IT department of a company. The upper-level management is considering the use of an effective approach to analyze and profile their systems. Possibly with the help of online research, post something about a strategy, tool, or issue related to this that can aid the company in making a decision.

3) System Hardening

In this module, you have been exposed to hardening security in many aspects of Windows systems. Pick any one aspect (e.g., password policy) and explain why you consider it important to harden it. Please include any realistic threats in that aspect and also possible remedies.

4) Computer Forensics

Share with other students your experience or knowledge of a computer forensics case that you found interesting. Make sure to mention as to what constitutes an incident and the evidence in your selected case.

Important: Please state how Integrity core value is important to forensic technicians.
