Industry experts believe blockchain is a technology that has the potential to affect the business of most IT professionals in the next five years. Pick an industry you feel will be most affected by blockchain and how blockchain may be used in that industry. As an IT manager, how would you embrace blockchain? For instance, how would training occur for your team, what strategies might you use, what security methods may you recommend be used?

1. Chapter 6 noted that Friendster has obtained a number of social networking patents that it could potentially assert against other social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. Suppose you are corporate counsel at one of these two companies and you expect that you may eventually be sued by Friendster. In addition to contesting the validity or enforceability of the Friendster patents, what are some of your other options? 

2. The CEO of a small but promising start-up company is in need of an experienced engineer to head up a key aspect of the business and has selected Sam as a leading candidate. If hired, Sam would not only be exposed to the proprietary technology that already provides a significant advantage in the market but would be tasked with developing additional proprietary information and software. Sam is currently an employee of XYZ Corp., a competitor of the start-up. What potential problems might the CEO want to consider? What steps could the CEO take to address these problems?

3. Read about the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLBA). Discuss the impact of the GLBA on the financial services industry

Find a peer reviewed article pertaining to blockchain and finance that is not one of the required readings for this course. Write a critical review of the article that is at least 3 pages long (content). Be sure to provide in-text citations when you paraphrase or directly quote from the article. Also include a reference page with an APA style citation of the article. Follow the writing requirements for this course when preparing the paper. Use the following format for the paper:

1.  Introduction, including the purpose of your paper and a preview of your paper. Be sure to also provide the article’s title and author(s)’ name(s) in the introduction of your paper.

2. Discuss the purpose and problem the article is addressing.

3. Elaborate on the content of the article.

You will also prepare a presentation of this Critical Review during the residency. The presentation should last about 10 minutes and Power Point is required. The presentation rubric provided under the Content Tab in the Getting Started folder will be used to grade the presentation. Follow the same format as the paper for the presentation. Power point is required and the presentation should last 10 minutes. The presentation is worth 50 points and the paper is worth 100 points.

Writing Requirements for all Written Work:

• References must be cited within your paper in APA format. Your reference page and in-text citations must match 100%. Papers without in-text citations will earn failing grades.
• Always include a cover page and reference page with all submissions (even initial discussion posts)
• Provide the exact web link on the reference page citations for all online sources – do not provide just the home page, but the exact link – I check all sources
• No abbreviations, no contractions – write formally

Submit your professional research paper on a current topic in cloud computing. Amend your paper based on feedback you received during the residency weekend. The paper includes your final literature review and your completed analysis of your chosen research topic. Plan on approximately 15 pages. Your literature review should include:

• An introduction that includes: Brief explanation of your strategy for finding literature (databases searched, keywords used)Statistics on your references (Total references, percent recent, percent scholarly)

 Mrs Parker owns and operates a meat shop that processes and packages parcels of minced meat that is being sold to schools in the US. Her scales are all calibrated to perform measurement in pounds, however when the parcels are packaged, they need to be labelled in ounces. Mrs Parker has established that 1 pound is equivalent to 16 ounces. In each production cycle, 250 packs of meat are processed and the weight in pounds varies for each package.
